Hi Sonos.

Set up in Living Room:

Pair of Sonos One SL

Pair of Era 100

Playbar

Amazon Echo Dot

With Alexa command I can control the speakers individually but as soon as I group them the Playbar refuses to play.

Can’t get my head around it. Has anyone had this issue?

Cheers

The link should help you get things going. The group by my understanding needs to be created within the Alexa App.

Remember, the only Sonos employees who respond here are Forum Moderators, not Sonos Support. Sometimes, the Forum moderators will respond, when they have time, but your best bet is to call Sonos Support to discuss it

How are the speakers set up? Which device is receiving and responding to the voice command? Are all speakers included in the Amazon setup?

Either the Echo Dot or the Eras responds to voice commands. Eras and One SLs are set up on stereo pair. The Playbar is separate. I've disabled the TV speakers and using the Playbar for audio.

Yes, the Dot and the Eras are capable of responding to voice commands. Do you have them both enabled? What if you temporarily disable one, and then the other? How many rooms have you set up for the Sonos speakers? Are they all included in the Alexa config?

Nope, I unplugged the echo dot and just used the Eras, same thing. I'll try it the other way around. Gotta go out…

Ive also got Kitchen. Pair of Sonos Ones (Alexa enabled) and an old Echo Dot. No trouble in the Kitchen.

Are you using Alexa Voice Control?  If you are and want the Sonos and the Echo to respond separately change the “Wake Word” of the Echo to one of the other 4 available in the Alexa app.

If your desire is to have all the Sonos speakers playing at the same time turn on Sonos Voice Control.  Use the command “Hey Sonos. Play Music Everywhere”  it takes a while before music starts playing, but it works.

If your desire is to play Echo and Sonos speakers at the same time it will not work.  you cannot group Echo & Sonos devices from within the Alexa app.

When you do get back, perhaps you could answer all of my questions?

Did you try creating a group(s) in the Sonos app?  The group Everywhere is there by default.
