This morning my book of experiences with Sonos opened a new chapter. After I had to learn painfully that Sonos does not offer any repairservice centrally, I visited a licensed Sonos Dealer in the City of Braunschweig Germany. Even there, in a dealership with top noche service for repairs, the skilled dealers technicians refused to even accept to try to repair the Sonos speaker. I am just wondering how Sonos managed to maintain their reputation with such a customer orientation. My question is if anyone has an idea if the is some place where a only 4 year old speaker could t

be a least inspected for a possible repair solution.

Have you checked with Sonos?  Although they may not repair they may offer a replacement at a reduced rate.  Also what speaker is this, you make no mention.  Am slightly intrigued about the book of experiences for a first time poster.  The whole post as a certain artificial writing element to it.

Search for SONOS service. While SONOS doesn’t offer any repair parts or services, there are some independent repair shops in the EU and UK that handle SONOS.

There is a 30% discount offer for replacement. Bust this is not what I expect from a brand which position itself as Premium prices. I believe environmental sustainability is a major issue for Sonos with such culture on top. 
Also I thimk that autorized dealers - from my recent experiece with req for repair service - are not happy with Sonos non-repair policy.

Usually, Sonos requires the non-functioning speaker to be returned to them to qualify for the 30% replacement discount. As I understand it, if they can then repair it, it then gets offered on their “refurbished” scheme. That seems quite “environmentally sustainable” to me. 
 

The “no repair service” has been the case for many years, so dealers should not be surprised by the policy. 
 


Shipping such devices 2 times and and a possible sale of a used device sounds not very promising to me. The business model  of Sonos rather gives the impressin that the environment ist not really valued but sales is the focus. In Germany the has very recently inaugurated even a law that certain cunsumer electric  articles MUST be offered a repair by the manufacturer. To many devices broke simply down just after warranty expired. 
in a fair balance I think that Sonos is facing at least an issue here…

Amd one point I really dont get: IF SONOS really repairs - why is that not on offer for the buyer???

Maybe selfexplaining…

thats even worae for SOnos if that assumption is correct.
