Sonos One Stops Responding to Volume Adjustments Entirely

I have a single Sonos One that, randomly stops reacting to volume adjustments from either the App or the Touch buttons on the speaker itself.  Re-powering the speaker works for a period of time but it fails again at some point.

I have a boost which I have re-powered as well.  I have 13 devices in my system don’t seem to have issues with the others.

Any ideas?

That’s odd. I could argue some sort of interference in the signal coming in from the controller, but that wouldn’t explain the physical buttons. A re-power suggests something is wrong with the firmware itself. Since you have other speakers in your system, I’d be tempted to do a full factory reset , to see if the reload of the OS ‘fixes’ the issue.

Otherwise, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of reproducing the issue, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

You might consider moving your system off the obsolete Boost and moving to your Wi-Fi, almost always ends up with a more stable system.

Factory Reset of this unit might help, at least temporarily, but it will also destroy past diagnostic data log that Support could have used.

Thank you, I did this this morning.  Given the physical button issue, I’m not expecting it to help with the specific issue but a worthwhile change for stability none the less.

I have also removed Google Assistant from the specific speaker in case that was having an effect.
