ps5>monitor>beam gen 2 connection options?

Can anybody list any viable option to connect the beam gen 2 to a ps5 and monitor combo without earc because monitors do not have it.  I know vroom sells a 500 dollar audio extractor but there has to be another way?

And how about using a usb c Bluetooth rtx adapter with apt x?  Would that allow the era 100 and 300 to connect to ps5?  Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you for your replies

No, that wouldn’t work. The Sonos Beam is looking for an ARC/eARC connection, not a Bluetooth connection.

Sonos provides an adapter that transfers an optical connection to ARC, you could potentially get a relatively inexpensive HDMI switch that has an optical output, which would move the audio signal to optical, which you would feed to the Sonos adapter, and hence the Beam. You would lose any Atmos capability, though, since that can’t be carried across an optical connection, there isn’t enough bandwidth.

What about the HDFury Arcana? That could change normal HDMI out of the PS5 to eARC I suppose. I remember it does need to be set up with an ARC capable TV first.

Edit: it seems the PS5 only has one HDMI port, that is needed for your monitor of course.

When connecting a Sonos Beam Gen 2 to a PS5 and a monitor without eARC support, you can explore the following options:

1. HDMI-ARC to Optical Adapter: If your monitor has an HDMI port but lacks eARC support, you can use an HDMI-ARC to Optical adapter. Connect the PS5 to the monitor via HDMI, then connect the HDMI-ARC port on the monitor to the HDMI-ARC input on the adapter. Finally, connect the Sonos Beam Gen 2 to the adapter using an optical audio cable.

2. HDMI Audio Extractor: Another option is to use an HDMI audio extractor. This device extracts the audio signal from the HDMI connection and provides various output options. Connect the PS5 to the HDMI input of the extractor, then connect the HDMI output of the extractor to the monitor. Use the audio output from the extractor (such as optical or analog) to connect it to the Sonos Beam Gen 2.

Regarding the USB-C Bluetooth RTX adapter with aptX, it's important to note that the Sonos Beam Gen 2 does not support Bluetooth connectivity. Therefore, using a Bluetooth adapter won't allow direct wireless connection between the PS5 and the Sonos Beam Gen 2.

It's recommended to check the compatibility and specifications of any adapters or devices before purchasing to ensure they meet your specific requirements.

The era 100/300 supports Bluetooth correct? So would a usb c/Bluetooth dongle work then?

If you’re ignoring the Beam altogether, yes. But you won’t be getting a home theater signal, only a stereo one. You could at that point ‘group’ the Beam and have it play the same thing, also in stereo, but if the Era speakers are set up as surrounds to the Beam, the Bluetooth function (and line in)  is turned off.
