My play 5 speaker stopped connecting to the WiFi network - seemingly a common problem based on all of the threads. I ran a diagnostics as advised on here and got the code below.
Sonos simply advised my speaker is faulty and because it is out of warranty they offered me 30% off a new one should I return it.
I wondered if anyone has had any luck with getting their speaker repaired? Its such a shame to let it go especially when a new one is so costly.

Can I just ask, if I get another Sonos speaker and my play 5 is connected using the Ethernet cable, should I be able to attach the new speaker to the wireless network to play the same music in another room for example?

Yes.
Mixes of wifi and Ethernet- connected speakers are no problem. Normally (not sure if the wifi is broken in a speaker) they’ll create a “mesh” network called SonosNet. Just make sure your wifi runs on one of channels 1,6 or 11 and SonosNet is on one of the other two of those channels.

If you can continue running the Play:5 wired by Ethernet cable, why not do that?
There is, or was, a uk-based company offering repairs but I don’t recall their name and haven’t used them so can’t recommend them.
