play 5 gen 2 essentially a paperweight now because of failed wifi card

Play five gen 2 wifi card is bad.  Only solution is get a 30% discount for a new speaker that can’t be paired with my current system.  So basically my very expensive Sonos “wireless” speaker is now junk.  Guess I’ll be selling the rest of my equipment and buying a system that actually works.  Thanks for the trash product, Sonos.

Since you are selling I won't bother you with possible solutions.

Hardly a trash product. But the Play:5 is very old tech now, regardless of what you paid for it. It came out ten years ago so in tech terms, it’s getting on a bit. It’s unfortunate but tech can go wrong after all this time for any number of reasons (dust, general degradation, electrical surges, humidity, climate, local air quality…).

Can I buy your wireless junk? Since it is junk, I only want to pay junk prices…. LOL

Still makes me chuckle when Sonos users with older devices refuse to use the Ethernet port to solve their issues. Seems to me , many simply want something to complain about.
The Ethernet port on all speakers are there for a reason….

Replacing a complete system seems likely to be a far more expensive solution than replacing a single speaker, even without any discount from Sonos.
I wonder if the chosen new supplier will offer any discount if/when any of their products fail?
