Recently bought a Lp&No1 Bluetooth capable turntable and two ERA 100’s. Both the turntable and the Sonos speakers work individually, but I cannot get them to pair over Bluetooth.
The procedure in the LP Manual is:
Turn on the turntable
Place the speaker in pairing mode
Switch the turntable to Bluetooth mode
The blue light will flash, then turn solid when paired, it never turns solid and the two devices are right next to each other.
Now, I can get this turntable to connect via bluetooth to my phone, no issues, but that’s because I have an interface I can press ‘accept’ on - I don’t have that on the turntable - so, they just sit there and stare at each other.
I’m pretty annoyed if the answer is “sorry” like I highly suspect it is.
Follow the instructions in this link regarding the Era 100 BT pairing.
Before you do the above continue reading….
Your issue with the turntable may be that it has a BT memory to pair to the last device it was paired to which may mean you may have to do the following: *
- Open your phone’s BT menu
- Locate the BT option for the turntable
- Select “forget this device”
Now try pairing the turntable with the Era 100
* If the turntable has a similar menu do the same for it
Yeah… tried that, thanks anyway, but that’s not it.
Try turning your phone off and any other BT device the turntable may have connected to then try pairing to Era 100’s.
Also, make sure you did the following:
- Era 100 must first be set up on WiFi using the Sonos app. Following setup, you can easily pair a Bluetooth device by pressing the button on the back of the speaker. Please note that if you use a pair as rear speakers for home theater surround sound, Bluetooth will be disabled.
Hi
I just watched a few YouTube videos on the LP&No1 and this is what I surmized:
The LP&No1 is not a BT Transceiver….It is only capable of Receiving music from a source such as a phone or tablet that has music downloaded on it; to be heard through its speakers. I did not find a video wherein the LP&No1 could send music to another speaker over BT.
The Sonos Era 100’s are in the same vein as the LP&No1 in that they can receive music from a BT source; but not send. That said even if BT pairing were successful music could not be sent to the Era 100’s using the LP&No1 as a source.
You might consider a Victrola Stream Turntable that works with Sonos and can send vinyl to Sonos speakers. Click this link.
Well… that figures, buy a “Bluetooth turntable” so you can send music to the shitty little speakers in the unit… seems like what most people would want to do tinsert eye-roll]... They’re marketing geniuses...
Hi
Here’s a BT turntable you might consider that should work with Sonos Era 100’s. Click this link and be sure to watch the video. Enjoy!
Edit: If you are serious about listening to vinyl the Victrola Stream will provide a better listening experience vs BT.
