I know this topic keeps getting marked as answered when people in the community ask, but then why do drop outs keeping happening so often.

I purchased my first set of sonos speakers in 2012. In 2020 I refreshed the entire setup. Here’s my current configuration:

  • Backyard Porch - 2 Play 5s paired
  • Dining Room - 1 - Play 1
  • Living Room - 2 Play 5s paired
  • Family Room - arc + sub + amp powering 2 in wall surrounds (ethernet to nearest wifi hub)
  • Upstairs Hallway - 1 Play 1
  • Office - beam (connected to TV) and ethernet
  • Office - Era 300
  • Bedroom - arc + sub + 2 Play 1s for surround pair
  • Closet - Move

That is 16 devices. All devices are on my local WiFi which consists of 5 Eero Max 7 with 1Gb ethernet.

  • The Office Beam is connected to the gateway Eero via ethernet through a small switch.
  • The Amp, which is in a drawer, had an ethernet cable to the nearby Eero which is not hardwired.

I am constantly adjusting, updating, resetting, and re-adding the devices to try and get them working. I do not have the ability to hardwire all of them or I would.

The issue has become worse after the release of the nee app.

I am looking for ideas on how to accurately diagnose the issue.

Topics get marked as answered when the original posters problem is solved. Folks tagging on to the topic aren't really considered in that process.

The question keeps getting asked because folks keep having issues, they may not have seen or tried earlier solutions. Many of us that post a lot have pretty standard responses to the most common issues.

Now on your setup, are you sure your speakers are on your wifi and not Sonosnet? Given the second wired one listed that would be unusual unless you have altered other settings to disable it.

The first wired one, to a hub is not recommended.

The support topics on wired versus wireless setups would be good reading. Also the reducing interference topics. See the support link at the top of this page.

You might also look at some of the Wi-Fi 7 and Eero topics here for suggestions.

Here is an Eero detail that is likely an issue for you.
