Hi all,

I currently have a NJ house with following:

Family Room : Arc, Sub Mini, 2- One SL for surround

Kitchen  :  One (w/voice Control)

MBR : Beam

Office: Play: 1

addl: Move and Roam

And a Chicago Apt with:

Kitchen : In-Ceiling Speakers connected to Sonos Amp #1

Living Rm :  In-Ceiling Speaker connected to Sonos Amp #2

We are moving to Chicago Apt and I need to make sure I everything that moves can be set up there and working right.

My Sonos App works flawlessly now as when I’m in NJ it works fine:  When I connect to Chicago Wifi it works the two Amps fine.

what is the correct process to disconnect sonos devices here in NJ, have them moved, and then set them up and connect them in Chicago?

Thanks in advance,

GT

If they’re all set up with the same Sonos ID (essentially, the same Sonos account), all you have to do is wire the ‘new/moved’ Sonos devices to your router, so that the data between the two is transferred. Once they’ve been connected, it only takes a bit for the data to be copied (playlists, streaming companies, WiFi connection data), and you could then remove the Ethernet cable.

If they’re set up as two separate Sonos accounts, you’ll need to factory reset one set or the other, which erases all those data pieces, then add them to the remaining system using the ‘add a device’ process.

I would reset everything from the NJ home and use the “Add Speaker or Component” function to add all the speakers you wish to add to the Chicago system. You would only want one room called “Kitchen” so I would leave the Amp and ceiling speakers with that name and place the One elsewhere

You will have to factory reset the Play:1 in order to change the Wi-Fi credentials as that appears to be the only device which doesn’t have BLE.
