I know there have been a few posts on Google Nest WiFi Pro mesh setups but not seen any definitive answers.

I have installed the mesh WiFi and whilst the Sonos speaker (S1) seems to have found and connected to the network (e.g. I can use Alexa and start internet radio) the Sonos app does not show any connected speakers.

Has anyone managed to get Sonos working with Nest WiFi Pro? I do not have the option to connect via a wire or use the original router as it’s too far away - it needs to connect wirelessly to the Nest access point.

Hi @LNote

Welcome back to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with connecting to your speakers over your Google Nest Mesh WiFi system.

Please try the following:

  1. Launch the Google Home app
  2. Tap on Wi-Fi
  3. Tap on Devices
  4. Look for any Sonos or non-Sonos device with the status "UnPause", and tap on UnPause to unblock the device.

Your use of the term “original router” raises some red flags as well. If your “original router” or main Google Nest node hasn’t been told to not operate as a router, then it is possible that you are encountering an issue with Dual DHCP on your network. If this is the case, you will need to disable the DHCP server on one of those devices. Your issue as you describe it could be entirely explained by this.

You’ll find more info on my Troubleshooting Sonos on WiFi article (specifically, in the Mesh Networks section).

I hope this helps.

The thing that seemed to fix it (for now at least) was to reserve each of the speakers a static IP address. They now appear in the Sonos app and seem to work as normal. Fingers crossed that continues to work!
