According to this:
TERMS OF USE, LICENSE AND WARRANTY AGREEMENT
10. Warranty and Disclaimer
Warranty. Subject to the conditions set forth in this Section 10, Sonos warrants to You that for a period of two (2) years after the date of original purchase of the Product(s), the Product(s) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship.
(The underline is mine.)
So I think it’s effectively from when it shipped (from Sonos or a reseller) regardless of whether it’s been registered or not.

Fair enough. Just looking for a answer on how long left . Not a deal breaker if a few months left . I've bought new Sonos stuff of resellers and when I've checked direct with Sonos they have always gone with date it's added to my system.

Thanks again bud.
No problem. I was just going by the documents available; in practice, they might be flexible. But I’m not sure anyone can say for certain until a claim might be made.
In spite of the legal terms my own experience in the past always was that Sonos looked at the date of first registration. Maybe that’s some kind of daily business goodwill. On the other hand imo it’s a win win situation because Sonos won’t have to check the proof of purchase for every case where the device was bought not directly from Sonos. 😉

I don’t think you will get an answer to your question about left warranty here on the board. I recommend to call Sonos support and with some luck they will help you.
Yeh I know it was a long shot just a bit of a time issue . I agree Sonos imho work like apple and don't ask for proof of purchase just serial no and when product activated.
When I was a Sonos reseller, selling through third party websites such as eBay was not allowed. I think it voided the warranty, but I am not sure if that was strictly enforced. That was also many years ago.
