Audio delay when using Sonos speakers for gaming — any way to reduce lag?

Hi everyone, I recently tried using my Sonos setup (Beam + two One SLs) as the main audio output while gaming on my console. The sound quality is great, but I’m noticing a slight delay between the on-screen action and the audio, especially in fast-paced games.

I’m currently connected via HDMI ARC, and I’ve checked basic settings, but the lag is still noticeable. Is this a common limitation when using Sonos for gaming, or are there specific settings that can help reduce the delay? Would really appreciate any advice or setup tips.

There will be minimum 30ms latency for an HDMI-eARC connection. If you are connecting the computer audio output through a SONOS Line-In, the minimum latency will be 75ms. These latencies are deliberately added in order to allow some time for the SONOS units to process the audio and work through minor network congestion without audio interruptions.

There is an audio sync setting in the Sonos app.  It’s in Settings-Room name-TV Dialog Sync.  Never tried this.  Hopefully it will fix your sync issue.

The TV Dialog Sync setting adds delay. It’s probably already at 0. So it won’t decrease any further.
