Does audio only play from the Sonos app?

Sonos controller app (10.5) on Catalina (10.15.1) cannot connect to my Sonos system (an “old” play 1 and play 3).I can do the more options thing, which opens the setup dialog. I can press the pause/volume up combo on the speaker and get it to connect. But after clicking ok, nothing.Interestingly, the Spotify mac app can still connect and play music on the one of the two sonos speakers.All very curious.

Has Sonos yet created a way for long-time users to either recycle or trade-in in their old Sonos devices, i.e. ZP100's, for newer ones?

After updating to IOS 13.2 Apple Music is no longer fining my Sonos 1 speakers. Anyone else having this issue?

With the recycling program in action does this flag that the Play 5 Gen1 will be rendered useless/obsolete in the near future. What are Sonos’s plans for supporting this device in teh future? 

I currently have a turntable that I connect via Bluetooth to an echo dot that in turn is connected to the line in on Play 5 gen 1. It connects flawlessly but more often than not the quality is poor. I was convinced it was the turntable at first as it was quite muffled. I've since tried connecting the turntable directly to the play 5 and this sounds just fine. My question is, if I bought a dedicated BT receiver is this likely to work any better than the dot? Or should I bite the bullet and move my Play 5 near my turntable. My play 5 is underused in the bedroom it resides in so I could replace that with a cheap IKEA speaker. Thoughts anyone? Cheers

Hi guys Just got a Play:5 today and have a query about the volume levels. Basically it seems to play very quietly (almost inaudible) until 40-50% volume. Then the incremental increase seems to go very high. The Play 3's and 1's that i have don't do this. In fact at the same level, the Play:3 would be a fair bit louder. Seems to do this when playing from my local NAS and when streaming, i have seen an old thread about this but there didn't seem to be an answer. Is this a known issue or is there a fix for it? I have checked all EQ settings and have loudness on, along with Trueplay done. I did buy ths Play:5 as a certified refurb from Sonos directly and it looks brand new. Maybe there is a fault with it. The issue i have is a lot of the time i listen in the evening and want to be able to hear it without cranking it up to 50% just to hear it.

Hi- I've been using my sonos play:1 for a month. I've noticed a low bass popping sound intermittently. I've used the trueplay calibration twice to no avail. I've also sent off a diagnostic. Is anyone else having the same problem? An example track where this occurs is Coldplays track "magic". Any tips would be most appreciated.

Hi!Is there a way to connect my analog turntable with RCA or minijack output to my Symfonisk lamp without have to buy any additional device such as Sonos connect? I have a Apple airport express but this only hva a minijack output. Any suggestions?I also have a analog to digital audio converter. Not that I think this would help…. 

Hey all - trying to figure out why my brand new Move keeps turning itself on while docked (and sometimes while off the dock). Music doesn’t play but I don’t want Move to have a dead battery when I go to use it. It’s very inconsistent. I have a handful of other sonos speakers on the same network but not grouped with the move.

My ancient Bose 3-2-1 stereo system is dying, and I would like to upgrade (find out wherther all those Bose-hares out there are right). Has anyone compared the Sonos Play 5s with high-end wited speakers, like the ones in Magnolia stores?  Or with any wired hi-fi speakers?

I recently tried to get support from Sonos and was told I had to pay a $99 fee for three years of support or $149 fee for lifetime support because my speakers are over 6 months old Where did this come from There was no disclaimer about this policy when I bought two Play 1 speakers or the Beam This is totally outrageous!! Especially when I can no longer play my iTunes to the Play 1 speakers after Sonos removed this feature a few months ago I am surprised that there has not been a huge backlash as yet I'm sure it will come I will never buy or recommend a Sonos product to anyone On community member said they were going to sue Sonos and I am considering doing the same Shame on you Sonos Truly Disgusted

Hi all, I already done my homework and learned that watts are not the most important when considering the quality of a speaker. I have been reading recently about Play:5 and I only found good reviews almost everywhere I looked, but I couldn't find any technical details about the speaker. To be more precise, I am trying to find out what is the speaker sensitivity for a Play:5? Maybe it's a dumb question, and if so, I apologise for that, but I feel like maybe other people have been searching for this as well and it could provide some guidance, if not finding the answer at least having a better technical understanding of the system. Thank you for considering my request and I am looking forward to your answers.

i have a 4 door Jeep Wrangler and would like to upgrade the factory speakers. I’m curious if the Sonos Move would be a better sound quality option provided I had a docking setup within the Jeep for the Move. Can you pair two Bluetooth sources at the same time as well so a person could connect to the car audio and the Sonos Move simultaneously from a smartphone and play music through the Move and car audio?

Hello Everyone, Ive been using Sonos for a few years now with my regular home AV system, but i'm a complete newbie to Sonos speakers, so I just purchased a Move for camping, trade shows, trail/driveway drinking etc. i have a year or so old Sonos Sub that i have never used yet. So, is it possible to set up the same single speaker (Sonos Move) for two room profiles? one room with a Sonos Sub and another without sub, all on wifi of course. so in other words can i take the Move out of one room with the sub into lets say the garage with no sub under a different room profile and listen without the sub thumping in other room? Thanks!!

My fiance hates to see wires. I can't figure out how to setup my Playbar and Play1 speakers wireless instead of opt wire

I connect my Sonos:1 through my iPhone 6S Plus to the Wi-Fi and when it’s says I can disconnect it from the internet cable it just doesn’t work, It worked before but now after some updates It doesn’t. I don’t know what’s the problem my Apps are updated, I’ve tried everything and nothing works. Please help.

I cannot pair Play:5 (gen1) and Sonos One In the Sonos App I get the message "Stereo pairing unavailable"

Hia, My Sonos Play: 1 has started playing quite tinny and the bass sounds possibly a bit fuzzy. Haven't played it too loud so don't see why it would have blown but that's what it sounds like to me. Struggling to work out where to find the settings that other people talk about changing to tackle this problem. Thanks very much, Laurie

When not in Use (Standby Mode) is it recommended to remove the Move from its charging base once charged or allow it to remain in the base?

I followed the directions for adding the Move to my system; it appears in my speaker list and it is registered. The Move produces sound only when it is the only speaker I select to play; when I group speakers, the Move is silent. My app software has been updated; I have reset my internet router and my Sonos Boost; bluetooth is turned off. The Move is my 14th Sonos speaker and I've never ever had this kind of problem adding a speaker to my system. TIA for any clues you can give me.

We do not have an extra power outlet in our bathroom, so therefor I bought a Sonos Move. When entering the room, people can then play some music. Big question now is... what is the best process to follow to allow : listen to music when using the bathroom reduce the power as mush as possible when there is no-one in the bathroom Have the largest possible autonomy as to reduce the number of times we need to charge the speaker (which has to be done in a different room of course)

I set up my Sonos Move on my iPhone. I can play from my iPhone using Bluetooth and Wifi no problem. However, when I try to connect to the Move via Bluetooth on other devices (e.g. my iPad or my wife's iPhone), it does not appear in the device list for connection. Even if I am disconnected from the Move on my iPhone. Can other devices not just connect to the Move via bluetooth automatically? I tried to add the Move in the Sonos App on the other devices but the Sonos App couldn't find the Move. Any help appreciated. Thanks
