Hi,

I have Sonos AMP hard wired to celling speakers in living room. I have sub min connected to power outlet. Also have Samsung Tv connected to SONOS Arc via HDMI cable.

question : when I play YouTube music on SONOS app it works, it plays the sound in celling speakers and my Arc. But when I play tv the sound only comes from Arc.. I tried creating a group and playing it didn’t work.

Do you have the TV settings in the Controller set to auto un-group your Sonos on TV play?

Are you using the in-ceiling as surrounds? If you are, just needs to be setup as surrounds and not a stereo pair. Change this in settings and set them up as rears for the Sonos ARC. You can then adjust the volume for them when your playing TV and a different volume when your playing music.

YouTube is stereo only.  You aren't going to get much sound out of surrounds when playing from YouTube.

When set as surrounds Sonos gives you control of the default volume (in settings) when playing music thru the App vs using them as surrounds thru the TV/ARC creating an all channel stereo mode. We generally set this for clients at about 85% or a little more.

The volume for the speakers when used as surrounds is also adjusted in this setting.

The OP stated they were playing from YouTube music which worked, and the TV source didn’t.  I was merely informing them that any YouTube TV source would not give much surround info because they are all downgraded to stereo 2.0.
