I foolishly purchased a second sound bar, sub and speakers for an investment property in a resort used by guests. The Sonos system is pure junk because it doesn’t work. The hours I have wasted persisting with apps, You Tube and Sonos ‘robot’ help line is exhausting. So much tech that it fails to actually work ie play sound!

Hey Sonos! Keep it Simple!!!!

People are always here to help if issue   Sonos works very reliably and if you have an issue it can be understandable but any issue is completely solvable with just asking for a little help

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues with your new Sonos system, But, Sonos recommendations are quite simple regarding networks:

A robust network that is flat.

No VLANS (Although there are users who have their speakers on a separate VLAN)

Resort network are normally big and complicated in order to handle the huge amount of data that can be flowing through them.

What you can do is to ask the IT department if you can use a personal router to create a personal network on their network for your speakers. Some places allow that.

OR, you can purchase a travel router just for the speakers.

They may already have a VLAN in place for IoT devices, and you may be able to use that.

Have a conversation with them and report back about the solution.

You are using Sonos in “an investment property in a resort used by guests.” So you are using consumer grade devices in a commercial environment? Maybe with a corporate or hotel type network?
