Hi all. I have my Sonos Beam connected to a Sony 55x850d through it’s single HDMI ARC port. The Beam is connected to two Sonos One, running 5.0 surround sound (no SUB). I am able to get Dolby Digital 5.1 through certain apps (Netflix) running directly through the TV, but not through my XBox One X. The XBox only transmits stereo, whether I am running games or playing movies.

I have the audio settings on the Xbox set to transmit 5.1 uncompressed. Do I have a setting wrong?

How do I get 5.1 from the Xbox to work?

set the XBox to send Bitstream audio via HDMI, and set the Bitstream format to Dolby Digital

Yep, that did the trick. Sounds so much better!
