I have a pairs of Sonos Roam 2 speakers in stereo mode. One is 3-4 weeks old, the other a week old. Both were updated to the latest software while setting them up. When playing music, one of units cuts in and out. I have tried music from two different sources - it behaves the same. Both speakers have exhibited the problem. My guess is that this is a problem with the pairing software, but it is hard to tell. Any idea what is causing the problem? how do I troubleshoot this?

BTW, the two sources were both iPhones. One is an iPhone 12 mini, iOS 18.4.1, and the other an iPhone 6 on iOS 12.5.7. The problem occurs when using either phone.

What ‘pairing’ software? Are they on WiFi, or are you using AirPlay 2, or even Bluetooth?

I have nothing constructive to say. Just to say that you are not alone. My OneSL stereo pair haven’t been right in months after working fine for years. Not a hardware issue Not a WiFi connection issue (all other Sonos speakers working fine on the same network)

Airgetlam, the pairing software is that provided by Sonos. Instructions are on this page: https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/create-a-stereo-pair. It looks like the connections are bluetooth and not WiFi. My router has a loooong password, and the Roam2 units did not request the password; they also don’t show up on the router attached devices list.

BigAINYC, thanks. Your comment is helpful. Maybe I will have to consider returning one of the speakers. Stereo is nice but not essential.

Gotcha. Stereo pairing is done via WiFi, not Bluetooth, and the network data is input in the ‘network’ area of the controller.
The Roams don’t have Bluetooth transmitters, only receivers, in order for them to be set up as stereo speakers, they must be on a WiFi signal, or the device sending the Bluetooth signal needs to be able to separate two signals and be able to send them. Most devices I’m familiar with, can only send a single, stereo Bluetooth connection.
