Can you be a bit more specific in your request? What streaming company are you using? Is this Sonos Radio, or one of the other streaming radio services?

If there’s a source for the station profile/descriptions a channel guide
I would most appreciative if someone would point in the right direction.

I’m not aware of any such guide. But there is a search function under Add Content Service.

It the Sonos Radio station found by default within the app.
The photo below has the selections found under the heading “Rock”

What is “Dad Rock”? Led Zep, Rolling Stones?
What music is on the station called “Cruise Control”? or “Portrait Mode”

A quick search turns up pretty good answers.

Other than Dad Rock are you looking for a description of the group's music or a link to their discography?

Maybe I'm too old, I have albums by both Led Zeppilin and the Rolling Stones.

Dad Rock is a bit new for me but listenable.

The last two... Ewww no!

I’m trying to choose music to be played over the speakers in a small office (15 employees).
Hunt and peck listening is cumbersome, time consuming, and prone to complaints.

A general description of what I’m choosing would be helpful.

Where are you searching? Google? this community?

Pretty much any search engine, I think my default on this device is startpage.

If you could give us examples of acceptable descriptions for the ones you mentioned it might help understand what you are looking for.

@FenderTL5, Tap the name of the station.

This would be exactly what I’m looking for -  if the app on my machine displayed that info.
It doesn’t.

When I “click” on the station name (desktop machine doesn’t respond to a tap) I see a pull down arrow with “play now” and “info and options” as choices.. “Info and options” expanded reveals this:

Thank you, though, that is the type of information I’m searching for and NOT getting.

I downloaded the phone app and it displays the information. I’m looking for.

It would appear that the Windows version of the app found on the Sonos site is lacking.
Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

The solution - phone app

Sonos Windows and Mac desktop apps have been in "maintenance mode"—receiving only bug fixes, not new features—for several years, with official deprecation accelerating around May 2024

The web player also shows station descriptions.
