Hi!

Im going to build a small cinema in the room you can see on the picture. Its not an ideal room size, but it is what it is. My problem is that i want to have a reflective surface for the era 300 which currently dont have a reflectice surface to the left, just a open space that i want to “remove”  by putting up a “surface”, which can not be a full wall from floor to ceiling. Can i use a cabinet/closet (ORANGE in the picture) to create this “wall”, and hosw tall and big should it be to work? is it enough to be a little taller than the higth placement of the era 300? (I gave bougth the original Sonos stand)

Thanks!

Hard to give a definitive answer, I'd say a meter taller than the 300's height. Maybe look at a 45 degree angle from the 300 to the top of the reflector, that should get most everything.

Another possibility is a decorative room divider, not a Japanese paper one, but something fairly solid. It isn't reflecting the Sub's output so it really doesn't have to be very sturdy. Height as above.

Even without it I think you will be happy with the sound so try it first. Adding a ugly but cheap chunk of firm cardboard taped to a chair would be a decent test.

I think you’re over-thinking the concept of reflective surfaces for your space. I have an Era 300 that is postioned in a similar manner. However, I’m in the US and thererfore not understanding the numbers which I assume are measurements of length and width. It would be helpful if you expressed them meters (or US feet). For example I have n idea what the opening dimensions of 10 x 21 represents?
