Dear Sonos team,
i placed the Sub Gen 3 in the corner between the wall and the TV cabinet. The distance between the TV stand and the wall is 43.5 cm. In practice, the Sub is positioned in the center of that distance. Is the position correct? Or is it better to always keep it in that space but a little more towards the outside? So that the two acoustic ports of the sub have a little more "breath".
However i am very happy with how the sub works, the bass is spectacular.

Good job

The correct placement of the Sub is always “Where it sounds best to you.” If you are happy, leave it where it is, if not plug it into an extension cord to make it easy to move around and try different locations.

Roughly, corners give more, in some spots, but less even bass.

Centered on walls gives less but more even bass.

Next to a doorway usually gives less, might be even or not.

Laying flat, under a couch or chair can sound surprisingly good too.

I put mine where the WAF worked best.

Exactly, then the best tool for sound analysis is our ear ;) I will do the various tests you indicated to me even if i think i have found the point where it sounds very good, therefore placing it in that corner i told you about, but keeping it outside and diagonally to the wall. By the way, it also looks good aesthetically so you can see the design of the sub. I noticed that the bass propagates very well towards the left side of the sofa while on the right i have less bass. But for this, i will solve by adding a second sub in the left corner of the TV cabinet. With a second sub, i should definitely have even more bass and a full sound in the living room. Thanks for your advice ;)

Bass efficiency varies with SUB and listener placement — in three dimensions.
