Sound quality with optical adapter

I just bought the Arc Ultra, the Sub 4 and 2 Era 300. Then found out I don't have eARC on my tv. Will I be able to use all those channels with the optical adapter? I read the optical cable only support 7.1 and the Arc Ultra alone has 9.1.2 and I'm adding the dedicated sub and the 2 surrounds. Will I be very limited in my sound quality?

Optical supports 5.1.

You’d need to get an external ARC/eARC device to take the signal from your devices feeding the TV, and supply the extra channels to your Sonos. Or, purchase a newer TV that supports ARC/eARC. Fortunately, right now, there isn’t that much Atmos content, but that continues to change over time.

Do you have HDMI-ARC?

EDIT: Or use a “box” as Airgetiam suggests.

Can you recommend one?

There is the HD Fury Arcana, the Feintech VAX04101k, and the OREI HDA-935. You can also order from those links from the companies directly, or check your local retailers for availability. Amazon may carry some, depending on location. At this point, there may be more manufacturers, I haven’t been keeping track.
