hi there. I need a definitive answer from the Sonos community, as this will dictate whether or not I spend the money for the Sonos arc ultra and associated speakers. I possess a lot of Blu-ray discs, which some of them only have the English audio track in DTS audio. I have been getting differing answers on this, so I would like to know if The arc ultra does in fact support DTS/X audio? Thank you!

Funny, yesterday I was ridiculed for saying lossless is lossless.

You do agree then that lossless is lossless?

Sonos have never supported DTS:X but you still chose to buy their products. Now you seem to expect them to support it. I’m sure the marketing team at Sonos have a better idea of the demand than we do; they’re not (yet?) offering it for a reason.

That’s an apples and oranges question and my whole point.

It like asking, is a Ferrari and Chevette a car? The answer is, yes. But are they same quality? Not even on a good day.

Same goes for DTS and Atmos. DTS is preferred choice by many home theater enthusiasts and for good reason. Once spent good amount of time driving a Ferrari, you just aren’t going back to a Chevette.

But to touch again on Pinewood. If the features were not rumor, but fact, it been a tremendous product. Shame Sonos pushed out a broken app that not only tarnished their reputation, it ruined certain products from releasing.

Far as my expectations, let me ask you, when next Sonos update is available, with or without, new features and options. Will you update? You should not download any updates since are strongly against improvements and better features and only want the product purchased to be forever in its original state.

You are clearly adamant that there’s nothing better than DTS:X even though Sonos has never supported it. Why did you buy Sonos gear, @GuyinPA75

If you start from the same master, you should be comparing a Ferrari to a Ferrari if both codecs are lossless.  Which goes to what I stated:  DTS cooks the master, and you could get the exact same sound from DD-TrueHD/Atmos.

How is hurting you that I am requesting this feature be brought to Sonos products? There are many requests for this in the forums. I am not the only one.

Do you update any products you own when updates are available? If so, why?

It’s not hurting me in any way. You’re the one keeping on about it. And you’re hardly “requesting this feature”. You’re virtually attacking anyone that doesn’t want it and dares to express their contra-opinion.

I’ll wish you the best in your efforts to sway Sonos on this matter, and will simply carry on enjoying my system - with all the limitations it has. But, as they say, I’m out.
