I have a Playbar that my family had for years - always in the horizontal position.
For some reason, all of a sudden after using the same playbar for years, today it has decided to disable the front IR receiver and enable the rear IR receiver, and none of our Volume control works anymore unless we point our remote at a 30-40 degree angle down towards the soundbar. The Playbar is in its horizontal location as it always had been.
How do I switch this back? I cannot find a setting to update on the Sonos App.

Why is everyone being so extreme??? Let the OP reboot the Playbar and if required run the Remote Control Setup. Probably best to let the OP post next, before looking to help avoid the end of the world.
Wuhu… calm down. I just wanted to give that advice, because very often I saw users directly taking the big hammer and doing the factory reset. And also before doing the restart sending a diagnostic would be helpful, because after the restart all log data will be lost.
Thanks for your concern! But in fact restart, power cycling, picking up the soundbar and shaking it all about, as well as factory reset DID NOT fix the issue.
The sound bar fixed itself just sitting overnight - not sure what has happened.
Go to Settings then select the ‘room’ the Playbar is in. Scroll all the way down to the IR settings and, if required, run the Remote Control Setup again.
