As title says, my Playbar powers off after a few seconds. Initially the led light is on then shuts off. This issued began a few years ago but I’m back to trying to fix it.

anyone know a fix for this?

I’ve tried different cords and outlets.

Have you spoken to Sonos support? They may have ideas, or remote diagnostics tools to which we have no access.

I reached out when it first happened and they just gave me a discount coupon to replace it with the newer products.

Are you using a smart switch with multiple inputs? If so one of those inputs is the switch controller that sends electrical current to the other outlets when the source product (maybe your TV) is turned on. When the source product is turned off current is suspended to the other outlets after a few seconds. The process repeats everytime the source product is turned on/off.

No, just going straight to an outlet. Good info though.

Hi @dubspls

As Sonos has already given you a discount coupon to replace the unit it’s safe to say that the issue is not repairable via conventional means such as opening the unit and simply replacing a component. Quite, frankly repair of a speaker has never been a service offered by Sonos. Although there are a few Sonos repair services I’ve seen posted here in community; but if memory serves they are mainly outside the US (which is where I live). There are a few DiY tear-down video’s on YouTube as well for some Sonos speakers.

Sonos has now started to offer an extended warranty (protection plan) on new products at purchase for cost which I assume is administered by a 3rd party. If it works the way most protection plans do the speaker/component will be replaced with a like unit out of inventory and/or certified refurbished. Those replacements as to which type (new inventory/refurbished) will most likely consider time-in-service. If none are available I would suspect a prorated monetary equiivalent most likely in the form of a coupon the same as you received.

The bottom-line is that your efforts to find a solution in this Community are suspect at best. However, who knows...someone may see your post and be able to offer assistance. Good Luck!! 🤞
