In the Sonos world, a dedicated one-way connection between soundbar and surrounds is created, and hence the surrounds can’t then be used for Airplay, Bluetooth etc (depending on the speakers’ basic standalone capabilities) input.
Get a pre-owned pair of speakers for surrounds duty - Play:1’s are good value. Keep the Symfonisk and carry on using them as you are now.
Thanks. That’s what I thought, too. I’ll look at getting a pair of 1s. Could I still use the symfonisks to make the AirPlay connection to the playbar and then the surrounds would be connected to it?

Yup; group both the rooms, or use the Airplay input to play to the Playbar.
Hi @bendsley912
Welcome to the Sonos Community!
Please note that AirPlay does not support the use of surround sound audio, therefore there is no point in having surrounds if the only way of getting audio to your Playbar is through AirPlay from another speaker.
Instead, I would personally recommend the use of a HDMI splitter with Audio Extraction and a optical output port. Sonos does not support the use of HDMI splitters, but I think this is the only way you will get surround sound.
I hope this helps.
