I just purchased a pair of Era 300s to add to my Sonos collection. I can fully understand the reasoning behind the absence of sound from the front-firing speakers when part of a surround setup. What I cannot understand is why Sonos is depriving its customers of enjoying the Era 300's full capabilities when listening to music in FULL mode while still in Surround mode. The only way around this is to remove them from surrounds, lose the Trueplay setting, and use them as a pair, only to have to add them back to the surround setup and re tune Trueplay every time. It's not like they are €40 speakers. Paying a premium price for such a product should leave customers looking forward to more products rather than regretting their purchase.
Hello everyone. I need advice on the positioning of the era 300 , as they are mounted now they are an eye sore and don't like the angle of those. How would you mount them in this space , it's very limiting to mount them and only place I believe is above the windows on both sides. This way it could be mounted almost straight to the TV (slight angle as the wall arc a little bit.Can the power cable be extended or just any longer white cable would do to power them ?I am attaching photos here (don't mind the mess :D )
I don’t know if this question has been asked yet, so here goes. I am using 2 Era 300s as surrounds in a 7.2.4 system used exclusively for home theatre. The 300s are behind the couch, mounted right-side up, 26 inches from an acoustical tile ceiling. The question is, since the acoustical ceiling is absorbing much of the upward-firing sound, would it not be better to raise the 300s a bit and mount them upside down?
Dear friends,I am attempting to connect my Arc with the projector in my entertainment room which are at two ends of the room. I do NOT want to cut my ceiling to hide the cables. Question: What are the consequences of setting the Arc behind my seating? Or can it ONLY be placed in front of the viewer? Thanks!
Hello, recently I started noticing degradation in sound quality on certain frequencies. The problem is it happens on a very certain range, usually sounds like outside traffic, rain or similar. The sound at those frequencies seems to be very compressed, turning almost into white noise. I am still not sure if this is a new problem but I haven’t notice it before. So I would like to test it somehow and wonder if there are any ways to test it so I can pinpoin it and be sure the problem is trully on the speaker side and not in the source. Do you know some good sources that will let me test the sound range and its quallity?
(Moved from Ask a Question)We just bought a house and I'm already planning on how to set-up everything (we won't be moving in until end of Sept). The living room is non-symmetrical and also has a sloping/varying ceiling height, with roughly 4m ceiling height at the area where the surround speakers would be positioned. Our setup in current apartment is: ARC, Sub + 2 Sonos One's as rears. My question is, is there a benefit to upgrade to Era 300's? My understanding is that Era 300's wouldn't perhaps work due to the layout (ceiling particularly) and a lack of wall to the right surround speaker. Please educate me on what would be the best option :DAttached a picture of the living room (previous owners furniture etc.) and floor plan with intended speaker position. TV would be placed in the same spot as in the picture, with sofa little bit closer to the TV. Current thinking is to either have the rear speakers wall mounted to the back wall, or with stands closer to the sofa.
Hi All, I've updated my Sonos app to latest firmware and updated by ARC and beam gen 2. I can get atmos to play via sonos app but when using Apple Music app atmos does not appear. I only ever use the Apple Music app to stream music to my speakers, bit disappointing this doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?
I have an Arc+Sub and Roam. The Arc+Sub keeps disconnecting from my app - for example, when I leave home and return. The Roam reconnects, but the Arc+Sub don’t. Every. Single. Time. Some suggestions on here include unplugging the routers … but I cannot do that every time, surely?Any help, please?I go into Settings, and click on “Add Product”, but my it does not find my system. It just keeps searching (see pic below), but does not find anything. Am I doing anything wrong? This is fairly recent behavior, and hugely frustrating. I’ve signed out and back in, I’ve reset the app, nothing seems to work.
Hello. The sound of my beam gen 2 with sub mini became quieter and got worse in overall quality after 15.5 version update. The sub mini looks like it got less powerful too. Did it happen to anyone else? I tried trueplay again and reset to factory settings but it didnt help.
Since the latest update I’ve been having trouble with my devices. My Beam does not play sound from TV when it is turned on. Each time I must reboot the TV or the Beam. The Beam disappears from my Sonos app and I must re-add it every single time. My Arc also disappears from my app, but Im not having the connection to TV problem.
I have a Samsung Q 90 connected by Earc to my Sonos arc.. I have my hue play out connected to HDMI 2 on my TV. Cable box, Apple TV, and Xbox connected to hue play ports 1,2 and 4, respectively. These are the best instructions for set up I could find on the Internet… The picture comes up, but it flickers… it doesn’t seem like you can plug three different devices into one HDMI port on the TV. What if you have two of the devices on? How does tie TV know which one to go to? I think maybe that’s causing the problem. I used a brand new 4K HDMI cable to connect the Hue Play device and TV. I had previously gone through a Marantz receiver, and it worked perfectly. Wanted to upgrade to Sonos thinking it would work better with new technology like hue lights. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!
I have a New Qled Samsung TV and have purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and a Sub Mini, all great but I’ve been having a issues with the Sonos disconnecting and reverting the TV back to TV speaker.I also have a 4K Amazon Firestick and suspicious it is this causing the conflict. The Sonos is connected to the HDMI - e Arc (3) and the Firestick is connected to HDMI 2.I’ve read that others on here have had this or similar problems and disabled CEC on the Amazon Firestick, I’ve done this now and hope it cures it.I did try the supplied Optical to HDMI cable as an alternative connection but the body seems to be a bit too big to connect it correctly to the TV and couldn’t get it to work.Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Hello,I consider to upgrade my Beeam G1 with two speaker. The title of my subject resume my mind. To make this upgrade, could you advice me about correct speaker ? I read Era 100 will replace Sonos One. The news are not my priority but the financial cost is it !What do you think ?In the future, i’ll add a subwoofer to complete my installation. Thanks
My entertainment space is rather limited, around 3.5x3m currently having an Arc and Sub gen3. It would be nice to have a pair of Era 300s as surround speakers but I’m not sure if they would work in this space. Especially as I need to keep the shelf on the wall (I can move it but it has to be on that wall). This is the space, would it make sense to get those speakers here and if so, how should I place them?
A great feature for my own personal use and business users (thinking specifically of sports bars in this instance) of Sonos would be to have the television-connected speakers automatically switch to music when television commercials start, and back to the television audio once the game starts again. Please let me know when this update is available, with my sincere thanks.
Hi,We’ve setup a Samsung Frame 2020 TV and connected eARC with the Sonos ARC. Worked fine till the latest Sonos Update. When starting up TV, the ARC outputs sound, then 2 seconds nothing, then 1 sec sound, then nothing ,… etc. This is quite annoying for a 3K setup… it has nothing to do with cables, only solution which works so far is turning off electricity for 10 seconds… i can still return the ARC to the store but rather have a solution or fix instead.
My Sonos sub sound is slightly delayed (lags behind the other speaker sound)… maybe less than half a second, but noticeably detracts from the listening quality. My 4 wall speakers and sub are all hard wired into the same Sonos Amp.I have tried to retune using Trueplay, reconnected, and tried the wireless setup, but all without success. Any ideas?
Sonos Arc is connected to Samsung 65inch Terrace TV thru eArc.. When the TV is turned off the Sonos Arc gets diconnected and is not visible to the TV in the settings. I have to unplug the HDMI from the Sonos than plug it back in and the Sonos works again.. What can I do to fix??
Hi What is the correct connection order to connect my TV to a Firestick 4kMax, 4k Bluray Player and the Sonos Beam Gen 2 so that everything is using the arc connection? And everything is connected at the same time? currently I can’t seem to do it without havinf to swap out the firestick with the blu-ray player.ThanksDan
I have submitted 2 diagnostics - 839597077 and 696830721 after the issue happened.More background on the issue - i’m running a sonos arc surround setup with hdfury arcana to split earc from appletv4k and pass it to the sonos arc.Whenever I’m watching dolby Atmos content on Netflix - the witcher, hunting of bly manor - I’m getting random increases by 20-30% for 2-3 seconds in the volume of the surronds(One SLs).When I’m watching Apple+ Atmos content, I havent observed the issue. My sonos app displays that I’m getting Dolby Atmos sound Can someone fix my title? - seems i cant edit it from my phone that i’m using to submit this question
My beam was great, had it connected with two Ones for surround sound. So good I ordered the sub. BUT Beam no longer connects so no home theatre setup. Surrounds can connect normally but Beam does not. Beam works with tv but does not show up in app so surrounds do not work. I have rebooted speakers and router and then reset speakers, but beam still does not show up in app. I connected beam with Ethernet cable to router; that worked but as soon as I disconnected Ethernet cable, unplugged beam and moved it back to tv, beam connection was lost, and I was left with ?+L+R in app. Very frustrating. I will not even open box of sub until I get this straightened out! Please help.
Of course I’ve had multiple issues after updating my speakers. Typical but after finally getting everything setup again. Now my beam and sub are undiscoverable and completely power off once I turn on my TV. Pretty annoying having to keep my TV on to listen to music. I also have One SL setup as a stereo pairing but they are on a separate power source. My TVSony Beam and Sub are all on the same power strip. Any advice my one SLs are setup as a separate room. After newest update I had to re add everything and hard reset all speakers but the beam!
