Hi,

My Xbox has a tendency to play at a much louder volume than my television when there is no headset attached.  Last night, the headset disconnected and the sound played through my Sonos Arc/Sub/One(s) instead - briefly - but it was pretty loud.  It was only a second or two but since I don’t typically blast the speakers, I’m mildly concerned that this could potentially damage the speakers.  Of note, they are working properly and there’s no evidence anything actually happened.

I really would like to know how the speakers are designed and if that 2-3 second volume blast could do anything troublesome. The actual volume was probably 30% max (30) but it was loud.

Can someone enlighten me? Like, how would I know if one of the eleven internal Arc speakers wasn’t working?

Thanks!

Since Sonos products are internally amplified, the speakers are designed to match the amplifier output. In normal usage, you should be able to run then anywhere from 0 to 100 percent.
