Hi there,I’m struggling to get my Sonos Beam set up to play audio from my PC and was hoping someone might have seen my issue/have some troubleshooting tips!I’ve been following this nice guide to get my Beam working with my Windows 10 PC. I bought the suggested DAC and installed the associated drivers. It all seems in order - there’s now a CMedia audio wizard in my System Tray, and when I plug in headphones to the `Front Out` port in the DAC I can hear audio from the PC. So far, so good!Unfortunately I’m falling at the next hurdle - getting the audio through to be played out by the Beam. Using the CMedia wizard I can toggle the SPDIF out option (it’s obvious when this is on because you can see the red light coming out of the SPDIF out port on the DAC). I then attached the HDMI cable and HDMI-to-SPDIF adapter that came with the Beam. Having done this though, no audio seems to come out of the Beam!I thought perhaps I’d need to go through the setup procedure in the Sonos App to get the Bea
Audio of Sony BRAVIA KD-50X80JP is really loud than normal soundbar services like apple music, alexa, streaming
Hi,I have a Beam soundbar, first model. I connected via HDMI ARC with Sony TV. In the TV audio I can select between Audio1, Audio2 and pcm. The pcm works, but I think I'm missing several sound effects, Dolby, etc. If I select audio1, which is the first choice in the sony audio menu, the volume of the tv is really loud! Undistorted, simply very loud compared to normal soundbar audio (Alexa, Apple Music). So, every time I turn on the tv, I have to turn down the volume, and every time I turn off the tv I have to turn up the volume, as the music or Alexa is very low. It is not possible to change the volume of the HDMI input when I select audio1, from the tv. Instead, this control becomes available with pcm, but as I said, pcm is the very last choice! I really don’t know what to do.Is it a Sony or Sonos issue?Do you have some solutions?Thank you!

My sub will connect to the Playbar and everything seems fine except literally no sound is coming out. Yes, I have toggled the sub on/off button in the app! However the Sub works if I connect it to speakers elsewhere in the house. Move the Sub back to the Playbar and it’s silent again. Unplugged the Sub and Playbar many times hoping that would reset it somehow. No luck! All software is updated. Regardless of configuration, the Sub shows up in “About My System” without any red flags I can see.
Hello,I have a Sonos Arc and a LG WebOS OLED tv. Initial setup a few months ago was fine between the two but now they no longer work together. The LG recognizes that there is a cable plugged into the HDMI Port 2 (arc port) but no sound. Volume button shows the grey circle indicating there is no sound.Message on Sonos APP : HDMI ARC not detected. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the ARC port and your TV is on.Following are the steps which I already performed after reading lots of advice:Reset factory settings of TV Reboot and unplug source Tried different HDMI Cables CEC/Simplink on LG is on. Sound option is connected to HDMI ARC and checked with all options (PCM, AUTO and Pass Through). eARC is turned off Checkec Arc port (HDMI 2 on side) Reset factory settings of SonoSI’ve tried it all and am no further ahead. Help!!!
Hello, so I have a newer TV (less than 1 year old) and stream with an Amazon Firestick. I recently added a Beam and noticed my TV screen intermittently goes black for a second or two. When I unplug the Bean from the Arc HDMI port the tv works just fine. I also noticed if I’m watching a movie it’s paused after the screen blinks black. I have tried a new HDMI cable and same thing. I used to have the Firestick in the Arc HDMI port snd it worked just fine before installing the Beam. Like I said I can turn the problem on and off by simply unplugging the HDMI cable from the Beam, but in doing so I did notice that when I plug an HDMI cable into the beam the TV screen goes black for a second or two as well. Any thoughts what might be causing is?
My wife is having an event and wishing to use our beam in her classroom. Will it work if I take it out of my home, and simply hook it to her classroom tv with hdmi? I am not planning to remove it from my system in the SONOS app, or setting up a new system at her school. I just want to make a physical connection for one day, and then return it to its usual place in my home. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
HiI have just purchased the new Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Surround sound SL speakers.I have a turntable i want to connect to it. I know the new Sonos Port or AMP will do this but will the old Sonos Connect or Sonos Connect Amp work for this and connect through the Beam Gen 2, or is it not compatible with the new Beam?
Hallo, I have a beam (2.0) en two play:1's configured with my LG tv as a home Home Theatre dolby configuration. Works perfectly for the place in the livingroom where i watch TV: the bench.Otherwise, when playing music from Spotify, i'm normaly not sitting on the bench in front of the beam, so i would like to only use both the play:1's for playing music and have the beam silenced. The beam is not in the middle of the room and destroy’s the stereo sound from both the play:1's. Sound quality for music was way way better before adding the beam. Can the Beam be silenced for music? A seperate configuration for Home Theatre and a second one for listening Music sounds logical right?
I have a Sonos arc paired with the gen 3 sub connected to my Sony xbr900e connected via arc(not earc) . Everything was working fine until a few days ago and now my audio is constantly cutting in and out. I have swapped hdmi cables, power cycled both tv and soundbar, factory reset my tv, and nothing has fixed it.
2020 LG 77" OLED and ARC + Sonos Amp and In-Wall Speakers - Will I get true 5.1 surround modes from the HDMI eARC?
For those that may have the LG 2020 CXPUA series TVs and are using them with an Arc sound bar and Sonos Amp plus in-wall speakers, do you get true 5.1 surround modes out of the LG’s HDMI eARC? I realize that this question is probably best posed to LG tech support but the dummies kept reading “2.2 Speaker System” back to me off the website and that wasn’t my question. Will the HDMI eARC send true 5.1 surround modes to the Sonos Arc sound bar and then wirelessly to in-wall speakers through the Sonos Amp? Or will it be some simulated surround sound?
Hi community,I just bought a Beam Gen. 2 for my LG BX 4K OLED TV (latest LG WebOS firmware installed). The LG BX has HDMI 2.1 (eARC) and I used this HDMI Port to connect the Beam 2.Right after the initial connection and finishing the setup, I noticed a very unstable connection of the Beam which results in the TV constantly switching back and forth between the Beam (ARC output) and the internal speakers. So basically it’s sound coming for 3 seconds from internal TV speakers, then 3 seconds from the Beam, then 3 seconds from internal speakers, …Also I noticed that the whole TV becomes very “laggy” and unresponsive when I use the LG remote as long as I have the Beam connected via HDMI (eARC). The HDMI connection between the LG TV and the Beam seems to mess something up somewhere. When I unplug the Beam from HDMI ARC, TV becomes responsive again via the TV remove.I initially used a new HDMI 2.1 cable for the setup and have tested with a different cable - same result.Quick search indicated
Setup:65” TCLLatest 4K AppleTVSonos Arc connected via ARC portIssue:Sometimes I’ll be watching a program and I’ll want the audio to extend over AirPlay to various HomePods in my home. When I do this from the AppleTV, the audio is not in sync between the ARC and the HomePod(s). When I attempt to run the AirPlay audio sync tool on the AppleTV, it throws the lip synchronization off significantly.Has anyone else possibly run into this? Thank you
Hi ExpertsI'm new to Sonos world. First bought pair of One SL around 4 months back and now added Sub (Gen 3). However the Sub is sounding very underwhelming, hardly any difference than what I got with only pair of One SL. I tried with different genre of music and also tried increasing the Sub level to +8 but the change is minimal. I need your suggestions to diagnose and fix the issue. Thanks in advanceKoustav
I bought my One SL in august 2020 and have had the same issue since. I have two rather big issues that spoil my experience. First off is connection to my One SL. When I use airplay(from Iphone or Macbook) to play Spotify and pause the music for more than 1-2 seconds, the connection seem to be lost. Whenever I try to resume the playback, Spotify shows that music is playing but no sound is heard. What I have to do is disconnect from the speaker(I simply change output on my Iphone/Macbook to the built in speaker) and reconnect to it and playback works fine. Is this how the service is intended to be used? Please not I’ve tried with both wired and wireless connection. I’ve restarted all devices multiple times, reinstalled software and reconfigured the speaker. I also have troubles playing music through a service with the Iphone app. First time I try to stream something it loads for a few seconds, and then says something like “Can’t play <song>. Lost connection to <service>”. I
HelloI was checking SONOS S2 app options on how to add Sub to One SL pair already setup in my room. I found following link https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4805?language=en_USI’m not getting option as mentioned in step#4 of above link.Any idea what may be the reason? I’m yet to purchase SONOS Sub, but doing research on adding Sub to pair of One SL .--------------------------------------------Add a SubOpen the Sonos app for iOS or Android. From the Settings tab, tap System. Under Products, tap the room you would like to add your Sub to. Tap Add Sub. Follow the prompts to add the Sub to your Sonos system. ------------------------------------------------Thanks Koustav Biswas
I read a home theatre setup topic in help but it may be outdated. It says to set up the home theatre speakers as separate rooms before setting up as a home theatre. I will be setting up an Arc, Sub 3 and two Sonos Ones for surround. The Arc part of the app has “Add Sub” and “Add Surrounds” items. Do I still need to add each of the components as separate rooms in the app and then create the home theatre? Or can I just set up the Arc, add the sub and add the surrounds from the Arc page? Thanks!OB
Hi all. Im new here and have a a question.I've got an extension being built and while the ceilings are down I have been considering a Sonos set up for this space. I am hoping to achieve a tv surround sound set up tied in with the option to listen and stream music using all speakers. I think I have narrowed this down to the following Sonos set up but I’m not sure if this would actually work in reality… An Arc, Sonos sub, x1 Sonos Amp and x2 rear Sonos in-ceiling speakers. Is this possible? If yes, what do I need to do or get in addition to make it work?Im looking for a simple answer as I’m a bit simple🤪. Thanks guys!
Hi SONOS team,it would be really great if one can switch left and right channels (sides) on SONOS ARC or similar - I do not have a TV but a projector and a screen and it would be great to have the option to mount the arc on the ceiling -- this would require that the channels are switched or “mirrored”...what do you think? cant be that hard….
Small living room. Unsure where I should mount the rears (One SL). Check drawn picture for quick overview (imgur link below). I've got about 30cm clearance on both sides of the couch. I've got the possibility to mount them on the wall/ceiling aswel (just the upper/back wall) because right of the couch I have windows. What to do? I'm honestly stuck. I'd prefer wall mount aesthetically speaking; but would that ***mess*** up the entire soundstage or is it acceptable (not looking for perfection here). Or mount them on a stand just besides the couch, instead of directly behind (I get mixed answers when Googling).Any help would be welcome. As I've said; I'm stuck, locked. No clue what would work. https://imgur.com/a/Excvmi9 -- illustration. Moderator note: content *** edited for family friendly language.
