Setup:Sonos 5.1 surround system (Arc + Bass + 2x One SL) TV (LG OLED65CXPUA) via the HDMI eARC and a Monoprice High Speed HDMI 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro with Plex for video playbackProblem: Whenever I play videos with 7.1 audio tracks (including TrueHD/Atmos), I hear crackling from all speakers intermittently. It seems to correlate with high bass times, but it reproduces in similar parts of all videos I’ve tested with. This does NOT happen if the source is 5.1 (even if it’s 5.1 Atmos, such as a “E-AC-3+Atmos / E-AC-3” audio channel). I’ve specifically also tested with the Dolby test files available here: https://thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/, and for these two versions:Nature's Fury (Dolby Digital Plus ATMOS): plays fineNature's Fury (Lossless - ATMOS): crackles Any ideas?
I got delivery of my beam 2 on the 6th and have the 5.1 setup with sub and one SLs which is great.Ive had an issue twice now with my beam going full volume sounding like a machine guns going off in my livingroom which is unbearable, especially for my dog 😅 and I’ve unplugged it straight away. Once plugged back in it’s fine. The first time was when connecting the beam to my TV but the hdmi had not yet been plugged into the unit, so power on only, 2nd time was when I had paused the tv for a few minutes.I will submit a diagnostic to Sonos next week when I can contact support but thought in the meantime I’d check if this is something anyone else has had issues with as I can’t find anything online? Thanks in advance 🎵
Arc + Sub + 2 One SurroundsLove the sound, love the system (when it is paired and working as expected).Beyond frustrated with the unreliability with the system to remember the pairing settings after a power outage. I’ve had this system for a little over a year since the Arc hit the market, and have repeatedly run into issues of having to remove and reinstall/pair the surrounds and the sub when a power outage or something occurs that causes a reboot of the router. I don’t have any issues with any other of the 20+ wireless devices on my network when an outage occurs, only problems with the Arc surround system remembering the rear surround and the sub. Each time this issue occurs, my first step from the app is to go through Support > Find Missing Products. The app successfully identifies the two One speakers and the Sub as missing from the system, however walking through the device and router restarts has never been successful and continuously ends with a message saying the devices were

We have a Sonos Playbar connected to an LG ThinQ Smart TV’s optical (toslink) output for sound. We also have a pair of Play:5 Gen 2s grouped with the Playbar. If I mute the TV it turns off the sound coming from the Playbar but not the Play:5s grouped with them. Is there some kind of settings change so the Play:5s also become muted. I noticed pressing mute on the TV remote shows the Playbar is muted in the Sonos App.
Hi bought a new arc, however I can’t connect my okd sonos sub, that I used with my playbar. ? The Sonos app, keep indicating sub not found ? Is it powered on and connected the answer is yes power on I can see the light and I connected to my router via Ethernet ? Can anyone provide any help ?
Why does my Beam keep getting lost? I am new to Sonos products and rapidly coming to the opinion I should have stayed away. I bought a beam to go with my projector and thought I might add more later. So far I find the sound quality really good but the software is far too complex. What is worse is my profile keeps loosing the beam. Tonight I am sat here with my phone linked via wi fi listening to music. With the music still playing the software tells me I have no device connected. I have no control over the beam. I follow the instructions which have me turning the speaker off at the power supply and reseting all the connections. Why does this keep happening?
Hi all,I recently replaced my Beam Gen 1 with a Gen 2 and, since then, I have noticed a popping/crackling sound whenever I start and stop videos on my Apple TV. I observed this behavior in Netflix and Prime. This issue did not happen at all with my Gen 1, and all of the equipment and chords are the same. Often there’s a loud pop / bang noise and then the Sonos Arc stops outputting sound. I have to switch sources and back for it to work again. Really troubling and I fear something is wrong with the hardware. I bought this earlier this year.I notice it happens a lot when I start playing on my Xbox Series X. Also got an Apple TV 4K and sometimes it’s happened there as well I think. It sounds very much like a gunshot - very loud. I have it connected to my LG CX. No other issues except for this really scary bang which sounds like it’s gonna blow my speakers up. It’s been going randomly for a couple months now that I think of it.
I have a Sony XR A80J that I’m trying to connect with Sonos Arc. The HDMI cable is in place and connection is detected. But this cryptic message comes up, which I don’t understand - “Use your TV remote to turn on Audio System in Home” - what’s expected here? When I tap Test Connection, it says - “Audio System not connected”. Try again doesn’t help.
Hi there,I was wondering if anyone had much experience with recessing a Sonos beam gen1 into a wall cavity? I know it has side speakers which would be impacted but is there a level of clearance I can give them in the wall cavity for them to be less hampered? Also I have two Sonos 1’s, could I use these as front sides to negate the impact of the potentially hampered side speakers of the beam?? Will truplay tuning potentially get around some these issues? Thanks in advance for your help.
I have had nothing but trouble from this sound bar. I was looking for a seamless experience and that's exactly what I didn't get. Every time I turn on the TV the sound does not come through so I have to turn the TV on and off a few times for it to find and play through the sound bar. So I disconnected from the TV. Now I cant even play music through it from my iPhone. Seriously what a waist of money. If your a techy and you like playing with these things every time they stop working then you'll enjoy. But if you just want to use the damn thing and want it to work every time, don't waist your time as it is the most frustrating experience. Also when it did work once upon a time the voice from the TV and the Lips of the person speaking were out of sync. I made the adjustment for this according to the instructions but still wasn't quite there. Just another frustration. It now sits under my TV just looking good. Dont waist your money on this Frivolous technology. So glad I didn't setup the r
Since the latest update I’ve been having trouble with my devices. My Beam does not play sound from TV when it is turned on. Each time I must reboot the TV or the Beam. The Beam disappears from my Sonos app and I must re-add it every single time. My Arc also disappears from my app, but Im not having the connection to TV problem.
Hi all,Recently we had to move the television and unplug everything which included power cord and all my HDMI including ARC. After we this debacle, we had issues connecting the Beam to the TV. I feel like I’ve tried everything that’s been suggested Every time we use our Beam with the Play:1, then turn on the television, the Beam does NOT connect to the television. I’m having to reset the Beam every time I want it to connect to the TV -- this is the ONLY way that it’ll connect to my TV again. I’ve tried going into the Sonos app to do the “TV Setup” again (without resetting), but it never works unless I reset it. The problem that arises through the Sonos app is the inability to “test connection.” The TV HDMI-1/ARC/CEC and the ethernet cable is plugged in with my Beam 24/7, and the TV is able to detect the Sonos Beam, however for whatever reason, I cannot bypass the “test connection” on the Sonos app because CEC Connection is not detected. Needless to say, every time I use my Sonos produc
Just trying to get my Sonos Arc to talk with the HD Fury Arcana. My setup is using an Apple TV as the source and an Epsom TW-3600 projector. The projector is the only screen I have access to. When I try and setup the Sonos Arc I get an error saying CEC not connected. How do I get my HD Fury Arcana to talk to the Sonos Arc?
I have a gen 1 play 5 and a Beam. I haven’t changed anything on the network but the last few days the controller can’t connect to Sonos. Sometimes resetting the router works, but other times not, and nothing else in troubleshooting list is working. Am using S1 as I have old play 5, but tried S2 today and it could find the Beam but not connect. At a loss
Hi all, For some background I havenvidia Shield > Hue Sync Box > TV (hdmi1) Took delivery of my Sonos Arc today and was super excited to get this working. Its connected to my eARC hdmi socket on the tv and appeared to work fine. However, when watching a movie later and turning on the Hue Sync Box light effects it became apparent that the lights were lagging or even freezing at some point. If i unplug the power for the Sonos Arc - everything is fineI’ve tried the followingReplaced all HDMI cables with high quality ones Connected my laptop > hue sync box (problem persists, so i can rule out the nvidia shield) Tried different HDMI ports on the sync box Tried different HDMI port on the TVNo matter what I do the light effect seams laggy, occasionally flashes, or just freezes on one color I’ve logged this with Sonos, and will be calling them tomorrow - but if anyone has some other ideas to try, please reply. I’d hate to return the “Arc” but its a considerable amount of money to pay
Hello - Has anyone mounted their Playbar above the TV? How’d it work out? How much above eye/ear level have you done it/how much space between top of Playbar and shelf (or ceiling) is required? Any issues with top of Playbar being too close to shelf/ceiling above (causing distortion of the sound waves or over-heating)? I am considering moving the Playbar above the TV (which is on an extendable mount that comes out of a recess in the wall).
System: LG UHD display, Apple TV 4K (A12 Bionic version), Sonos ARC SL/Sub/Play1 home theaterProblem: volume control stopped working / no audio outputSeveral days ago I noticed an issue with my Sonos home theater - no sound output in Prime videos. Clicking the volume control on the aTV remote brought up a grey circle with a slash on the right edge of the screen. I was still able to get video out of locally served movies as well as the Hulu app. Later in the day, the Hulu sound quit, followed by Apple Trailers. Now I have no sound at all, even from the aTV click and window system sounds. I discovered that none of the apps on my devices could see the Sonos system (once the Sonos HT was installed I never again used the apps), so I did a WiFi reset as prescribed in the support docs. My apps could then see the system, but the audio was still gone. I reset the remote function and had the app relearn the aTV remote, still nothing but that grey circle with a slash on the right side of the scre
