2015 Sony Bravia 4K tv. Has ARC but not eARC. Latest generation Apple TV 4K only does 2 channel audio to my Sonos Arc. Any way to get 5.1 multichannel Dolby 5.1? I know Atmos is not possible without eARC. I read somewhere that I need to pass through HDMI input on my TV, but my Tv does not allow me to do that. Thanks!

Atmos is available on ARC using Dolby Digital Plus. You should be setting your AppleTV’s audio setting to that, rather than ‘Auto’.

Thanks! That’s what I did on Apple TV audio settings (switched Audio Format —> Change Format: On —> New Format: Dolby Digital 5.1). I now getting Dolby Digital 5.1 on my Sonos Arc (now playing screen). I don’t see any Atmos on any of the apps I checked, but that’s OK. Getting surround sound 5.1 on my Sonos Arc is all I was looking for.
