Home Theater finally complete , was looking forward to my new SONOS immersive sound experience, hung my new Sony Bravia 8 (which sat unboxed, purchased on sale in February during sales event) and the TV had a white line down the left side of screen.  Sony tried to fix remotely and ultimately the TV wouldn't turn on at all.   Sony said the panel was damaged and would not cover it under warranty, $2600.00 down the toilet.   Needless to say I will not buy another Sony.   Looking for your recommendations for a 77” OLED (very dark theater room in basement).  I know Sony’s 2023 A95L was rated the best for past 2 years, but I’m not going there.   TV use will be mostly Sports/Movies/Regular Use (no gaming).  Now looking at LG’s or Samsung’s.   I have read just about every review on 2025 TV’s but as you all know one can drive themselves bonkers.  Appreciate the Sonos communities help/recommendations!

You’re more likely to get a ‘good’ response on a more generic home theater forum, than here on this speaker focused forum. Something like https://www.avforums.com

From a Sonos perspective, any TV that has an eARC or ARC perspective should be fine.

Some generic advice would be to buy as big a TV as you can get, since you are quite a long way from the TV (at least the photo seems to make it look that way). There are 100 inch TV’s. If this is really a dedicated home theater room, I’d look at a projector too.

Sofa is only 7 feet, and power reclining seat are 10 feet.  The Sony on the wall is 77”.

I’m surprised if the TV was new, Sony wouldn’t warranty it? Where did you purchase the Bravia 8?

I’ve purchased nothing but Sony since I worked at the PA plant in the 90s, and never once had even  hiccup with them.

Purchased in February during Best Buy sales event.   I actually communicated with a You Tuber (Btheinstaller) and he thought Sony would either replace, or perhaps upgrade me.   Well, they did neither.  Sony basically said the panel issue was not due to manufacturing nor Best Buy delivery, so the damaged panel must have happened in my possession.  Again, the TV sat in the delivered box from Best Buy for 60 days, in our dining room.  Wasn’t touched/moved/or plugged in.   But obviously I should have tested the TV upon delivery.
