My Sonos arc isn’t recognized by Samsung Q70C Qled using the eArc hdmi input. So it’ll switch between trying to connect to the Arc and the tv speakers. This has been going on for months. Has anybody been able to solve this problem? I see this is a problem going back four years, maybe more. I’ve seen people try lots of different solutions but nothing really definitive. Samsung is aware of this problem and as far as I know, they just don’t care because there hasn’t been a fix. Unplugging the TV and waiting five minutes isn’t a solution. It’s a band aid. if I had known, this was gonna be a problem I never would’ve bought this Samsung. My Arc upstairs has zero problems with my LG tv. So frustrating!
Have you tried these settings for the TV?:
HDMI-eARC Mode: Auto
Digital Output Audio Format: Pass-Through
Set the Apple TV Audio Format settings to this:
Change Format: OFF
Dolby Atmos: ON
I have a Samsung Q80D and these settings work for me.
The only problem I wish either Sonos or Samsung would look into is the momentary dropout every 20 minutes or so when watching Dolby Atmos content.
In addition to the above settings, power down the TV and ARC and remove all HDMI cables from the TV. Keep the TV powered down for at least two minutes. Next, power up both units, but don’t connect any HDMI cables. After the units finish booting, connect the TV to ARC. The TV and ARC will, exchange some settings over the HDMI cable. Now you can connect other devices to the TV, if any.
I’ve literally tried every settings solution I could find online and nothing has worked. The only solution that ever worked for me was unplugging the TV from behind and leaving it for five minutes and then plugging it back in. Everything else either never worked or worked for a few days and then the problem came back. So many problems with the eARC and Samsung there should really be some sort of class action lawsuit. This is ridiculous and has been going on for years apparently. Again I have LG tv’s that have no problem with Sonos. I got the Samsung to replace an LG that one of my kids friends cracked the screen. Boy am I sorry I did, should’ve just stuck with what I know works.
