So I have a surround setup, beam, ones and a gen3 sub. I've never really been blown away by it. I like listening to bassy music that I can feel in my body. I don't really get much bass from my setup though. Even if I crank the bass in my sub to +10 it still barely goes on. This is from Spotify direct on my phone, tv Spotify app, or Spotify through the Sonos app. All the same results. The sub is working, but I have to stand over it nearly to feel a good amount of bass.

I also went to my friends house who has an arc and a sub and we turned up some music and my body was literally shaking.

I've tried all different settings in the Sonos app btw, and I don't have truplay

First try a few different locations in your room for the Sub. A long extension cord makes this a lot less hassle.

If moving it does nothing submit a diagnostic and call Sonos support with the number it gives you as yoiu may have an hardware issue.

All

I consider my self fairly technical

I built computers and set up connections from one HSBC branch to another. etc

I have returned 2 subs on sonos supports request.

I have the 3rd sub gen 3 today

I have done the diagnostic thing with support

I have moved the sub , I have bounced routers

I have connected all devices wirelessly and via ethernet

I have reset all devices factory settings

I have turned trueplay off

There is extremely low sound coming out of the sub

in any situation on all 3 subs i have had

does anyone have any ideas please

losing the will to live

from what i have read its not just me

plenty of bass coming out of the playbar

surround sound works well

sub seems to add no value but definately on and connected and vibrated a little.

If you stick your head tight in the sub you hear a little bit.

What is your source that you’re testing with? What device is the Sub ‘bonded’ to? Is it the PLAYBAR you mentioned? How is it currently attached to your system? Have you played with the equalizer , to boost the Sub response?

Unfortunately, this community has no ability to see or read the diagnostics that Sonos support does, so there will likely be a lot of questions.

source i have played movies and queen loads of bass

in queen music.

the sub is connected to playbar yes

yes i have played with all settings for sub and equaliser

btw

thx for reply

im watching jason bourne now

the surround sound and playbar are great

the sub just seems to be doing nothing

the idea of the extra speakers the surround and sub is to take pressure off the playbar , so the playbar just concentrates on voice , but the playbar is producing way more bass than the sub.

Rather than streaming music, what happens when you play a Dolby Digital movie on the TV that is connected to the PLAYBAR? It should be showing 5.1 on the room screen of the Sonos controller.

Ill try a 5.1 movie

here is the about sonos

i notice there is no otp under the sub

can only see stereo pcm

while playing 5.1

So, you’re not playing Dolby Digital on the TV set. It would be helpful to work on that first. Check the audio settings on the TV’s options, as well as the audio settings you’re using to send a signal to the TV set. And, to make sure what you’re ‘watching’ is actually in Dolby Digital. Some shows are not.

on my samsung tv on the spdif settings it will not let me switch to dolby digital the option is there but will not let me select it

That means the signal the TV is receiving is not Dolby Digital. It won’t allow you to change to something that isn’t there.

the surround speakers work fine its splitting them

oh this netflix movie says its 5.1 audio

the greatest night in pop

found settings in sky to change to optical cable to dolby digital

this enabled me to select on tv dolby digital

but now i have no sound at all

yes i am playing a 5.1 movie

oops
