I am building a new space. I plan on having an Arc Ultra under the TV and a pair of 8” in ceiling speakers slightly behind the viewing couch. I also plan on dual sub 4s. Is it better to have them up front on either side of the TV, or on either side of the couch, or behind the couch on either side? As I need to plan outlet placement and some other features in advance, I can’t test this out after the room is built.

I recently bought an Arc Ultra & Sub 4. I’ve ordered a couple of Era 300 and another Sub 4. I’ll let you know once it arrives and I figure out dual sub placement plan. I’ve seen in YouTube videos that diagonally opposite placement of Subs gives an even coverage of bass across the room.
So much of Sub placement is dependent on your room design that recommended placements really need more information. Even then you may find other locations provide more even sound.
Roughly, corners boost but are more uneven. Flat walls are more even. Near doors can reduce loudness.
Putting them on extension cords and trying different locations usually gives the best results.
While exact placement of the SUB’s will have a significant effect on their output level, in general I recommend placing SUB’s vaguely in the same plane as the front speakers. This will yield better time alignment with the front speakers.
