Why are you on SonosNet?

That's how it set itself up I guess. If not, how will the speakers connect?

Is it safe to disable it?

Is sonosnet likely to cause a problem??

I see you have a Play 5 (Gen 1).  So you are on the older S1 app….Correct?  Which Sonos device(s) are on Ethernet?

No I don't have that now. I'm on latest app with arc, sub, 2 play1, a play3 and an ikea speaker. An update was done while onto sonos support.

Arc is on ethernet and now one of the 1s is.

It's not disconnected again yet since connecting the 1.

What I don't understand is why this has suddenly happened, needing the 1 to be connected.

Dont really want cables in view.

If you disconnect all Sonos devices from Ethernet and let them all connect to your WiFi does that work?  You should not need Ethernet with a modern WiFi network in the home.  What is your network?

I addition to @MoPac advice….if available consider WPA2/WP3 Personal Encryption. I use that with my ASUS WiFi 7 AiMesh network. Learn more about the advantages of using such encryption here.

Environments change. A new piece of electronic equipment in your or your neighbours’ homes can make a difference. Or a neighbour updates their router/wifi and it interferes with yours.

If the above suggestions don’t help and you go back onto SonosNet, have you tried a different channel?

Yes tried all 3 options. It's currently off and trying with only WiFi. On wpa2.

I now keep losing wifi connection with my sonos ikea bookshelf speaker upstairs.

I thought I disconnected from sonosnet but went to reenable it just now but already on.

Weird.

I've disconnected sonosnet again. See what happens next.

UPDATE no it's gone again. I'm losing the speaker in the list of devices available. Having to restart the same as arc.

What next?

Thanks for your suggestions.

This happened to me when trying the new UI - not sure it is really related though. Did you try it?

Yes gone back to the old one earlier today to try to isolate the issue.

Geeze guys 😂! I guess I’m just too old for this. Really… pulling power is interpreted as “yanking” on the power cord itself. Glad I didn’t say “cut” the power. Lord knows what would have happened then. 😵‍💫

Also, the OP said they Reset the Arc. As “toggling the TV and Arc on/off didn’t work. Since there’s no switch on the Arc to toggle I didn’t get into semantics as to what the OP meant. Reset in my Sonos speak refers to a Factory Reset.

As long as I can remember a Hard Reboot meant removing power to a device while it is still powered on. Which is the same in Sonos-speak (as well with a TV) which is not a factory reset. Hard reboots merely clear a cache and/or memory but does not take the device back to a virgin state as would a factory reset.

Just to put a point on things … I’m pass Three Score and Ten. Which probably qualifies me as grandpa (at least) to most in the community. Old school to the max 😂😂😂

Gotcha beat. Four Score and Four here. 😎

OK...enough of this “ X Score and X” stuff. Didn’t know I’d opened Pandora’s Box 😂. Besides the Kidd’s are probably saying “What the ???? is going on” 😂
