So, for a week now I’ve been trouble shooting why the sonos App never displays that its receiving Atmos. Ive bought new hdmi 2.1 cables, checked and rechecked the settings. Purchased a new Apple TV 3rd gen. Still no Atmos. My Television is an LG Oled C1. All devices are updated to latest software. E-arc is enabled, pass through enabled, the Arc is plugged into the eArc HDMI port. Still at best i get Dolby 5.1+ or Mutlichannel PCM 5.1 (from the Apple TV). No app whatsoever produces Atmos sound with the Arc whether native on the TV or from the Apple TV.  Im so frustrated im considering just returning the Arc soundbar and moving towards a Klipsch Atmos setup. What could possibly be the problem that im not finding nor thinking of?

It might sound obvious, but the Arc can only process the signal it’s sent. Are you sure your source is broadcasting an Atmos signal? What’s your source?

For testing I strongly recommend using AppleTV+ on the AppleTV 4k. There even most trailers include Atmos sound. For example „Monarch“.
ATV audio settings are „change format: no“ and „atmos audio: on“?

I got the Apple TV 4K..just looked at the box as i picked up today. @Schlumpf yes the ATV settings are as you listed : «‘ change format: no“ and „atmos audio: on. @nik9669a Unless Jurassic park world is not truly sending atmos on the Max app on the Apple TV as listed when i check for it the source is in atmos.  Well Holy S*** the monarch trailer is atmos and showing as such on the sonos app…(i checked while replying).

In this case on hardware and settings side everything seems to be ok. It strongly depends on the used service, platform (device and os), individual content and sometimes (for example in case of Netflix) also on the kind of subscription plan you use.

@Schlumpf Prime, Max, and cheap tier Netflix (as i dont watch it much all) so i dont expect Netflix to perform on the high end of video and audio. Max is the ad free plan. Prime is what it is. Next upgrade would be the blue ray as mine is older than atmos and so its a no go on. But honestly, im grateful you sent me to place to test and got positive results. I’ll blame the subscription services for the lack of true support. I’m more confident it will work with a newer blue ray now too.

Before spending money I would try your old BD player because every old BD device is able to pass through Atmos audio as it technically is Dolby true hd format.
For me my old Panasonic player does it well.
