So I have  2 (surround) speakers connected to an AMP.

The AMP is placed far away from the setup (basement), so there is no way to do wireless, and everything is wired.

I have no soundbar yet… but are considering buying one… So my question is is it possible to use this AMP (that is only accessible by ethernet and not wireless) as surround for the Arc Ultra?

Yes.

(Without a front channels speaker, I suspect you are just stereo-paired at the moment, rather than set as a surrounds pair.)

Yes, now I just use them to stream normal Sonos audio in a stereo pair, but they are perfectly placed for surrounds for the TV.

I was just worried that the Arc Ultra and the Amp had to be in wireless distance, as I understood from another post that they (Arc Ultra + Amp) would need to connect directly wirelessly to avoid delay.

You can only learn if this will really work by trying it. The dedicated 5Ghz link between soundbar and surrounds is the preferred method, but a cable connection via your router is still a possibility, that is maybe a bit more vulnerable depending on your network gear.

Oh so It’s not sure it works properly?

Network gear should be no problem… Great cables (Cat 7), USW Enterprise 24 POE Switch (Layer 3, I believe), all connected to same switch.
