Volume control for Sonos Era 300’s as surround

Should we expect to get an update for Sonos Era 300’s where we can control volume of each rear surround speaker (left and right) individually? I have Sonos Arc connected to my Sonos Era 300’s. I really want this feature in Sonos app where i can control volume of each rear individually.

I wouldn’t expect so. Sonos has been doing surrounds for a long time, they’ve never offered this feature.

On the other hand, they tend not to announce new features until they’re released, so who knows?

Have you run Trueplay? That usually takes into account the listening/watching position to adjust surround volume accordingly.

Yes, I ran trueplay but surround distance for both left and right rear is greyed out. Not sure why. I sit close to me right rear speaker and left rear is little far from my main listening position.

That distance aspect isn’t particularly effective anyway so greyed out doesn’t matter too much. Although I think you can turn off Trueplay, set the distance, and then turn Trueplay back on...

When you run Trueplay and are asked to sit in the usual seating position, that usually balances things quite well - but not if you tend to sit right next to one of the surrounds. In such a case, yes, a manual control would indeed be useful.
