I already own the gen 1 beam and 1st gen play one currently been used as a surround sound setup….

my question is if I bought a pair of era 100 could I add these to the existing setup so essentially having 5 speakers as a surround sound..

The reason I would like to add these era is to connect my Bluetooth turntable which I know would only connect to the 2 era’s, or would I have to just replace the ones with the eras if so would this work as surround sound when needed the connect to the turntable when needed…

thanks

The (current?) max for a Sonos config is soundbar plus 2 rear surround speakers plus Sub(s), so the answer is “no” to adding the Eras to that room. Note too the Bluetooth input is disabled when Eras are used as surrounds.
You can have the Eras in the same (or a different) room, and connect the tt to them. Then use the “group” feature to play to both speaker sets.

Thanks…so in short keep the current setup for surround sound then buy the eras for the turntable..

Yup. But you can select and play the turntable as a “source” through the Beam+surround speakers too.

Sorry what do you mean by source…can I connect my turntable to the existing setup without buying the era’s…,

apologies but not clued up on this kind of stuff

Sorry to have confused you.

You will need the Eras, and will connect the turntable through them. But, once you’ve done that the Sonos system will let you play to the Beam as well as the Eras.

Buy the Eras, and then come back to us and we’ll talk you through how to do it, if you want to know.

Brilliant thank you
