Can Sonos Add LC3 codec support the headphones?

I’m using a google pixel phone, the 9 pro xl to be specific, and i recently bought the sonos ace headphones. The headphones are nice spec wise however i was disappointed to see that the only Bluetooth codec i can use for wireless listening is SBC. I understand they support Aptx but google phones DO NOT support Aptx. I think its lame that I’m stuck with the most inefficient codec with such cool headphones simply because of the chip my phone uses. With Bluetooth 5.4 onboard it more than meets the requirements to add LE audio support and LC3. Aura-cast would be nice too for good measure but I’d love to see an update for LC3 support at the very least. Do you guys think this is possible to expect in an update?

I didn’t know LC3, it seems could be the replacement of SBC in a future, improving it, but still far away in terms of HiFi than Sony’s LDAC or aptx HD.

As far as I know, your phone can work with aptx, just active this option after enable the developers mode.

Thank you so much I didn't realize that pixel phones could support aptx HD despite not having Qualcomm chips. Seems that only applies to newer aptx versions like adaptive and lossless. I'm using aptx HD now, sounds great, however, I would still really appreciate if Sonos could add lc3 because it's very efficient and consumes less battery power and lowers latency. There would be many situations where that would be very useful for me, but at least for now I can get solid sound from aptx and aptx HD.

Im not sure, but you could try following the instructions I’ve got from Google:

To use aptX with a Pixel 9 Pro XL,

first connect your aptX-compatible headphones, then enable Developer Options by going to Settings > About phone > Build number and tapping it seven times. Next, go to Developer options and find the Bluetooth audio codecselection to choose aptX. Note that the Pixel 9 series uses Google's Tensor chip, so aptX support is not guaranteed and you may need to check if the codec appears in the options.

Regardless of APT X Support, LC3 codec support would be ideal for a lot of reasons.
Better battery life, better audio quality at lower bitrates, the ability to use the headset as a communication device without a drop in audio quality, and extremely low latency (Better than Apt X LL). Given the Ace has a 5.4 chip, it should be possible to enable support for the codec. Please do so, Sonos. Just let us enable it in the Sonos App.
