Hi everyone! I’ve just made the 6th Aug update on my Sonos Ace and I couldn’t connect with my Beam Gen 2 Soundbar through Sonos App (iOS) . Same message: “No compatible soundbar found…”

Of course the Beam is connected to WiFi and WiFi enabled on it .

Should we wait for another update or is a trick to solve it?
Thanks in advance!

Did you update the Sonos app as well?
Ross.

I’ve just completed the latest app update and I still can’t get the app to find the beam!

Just FYI. I have successfully swapped the Ace with both my Beam Gen1 and Ray.
So not sure why it would be failing for you?
I simply updated the IOS app and Ace firmware and it worked as expected.

Ross.

Go to Settings - Manage - System Updates - Check for Updates, and see if any of your speaker firmware needs to be updated. That could be at the heart of your Ace swap issue.

The Sonos App wasn’t updated. You’re right! All is good now! Thanks! For other iOS users: visit App Store, then search for Sonos App, then click on the Sonos icon not on the blue “open” tab, you should see “update” blue icon… enjoy! 👍

If you’re going the long way round to update individual apps, you might also be advised to go to the App Store, tap your name/initials top right, then drag the resulting screen down to refresh it and show all the apps that you need to update on your phone.

Tap Update All.

Thanks! Very useful tip! As ex-Android OS user I still find new features after 2 years on iOS 😁. I thought that if I had checked in AppStore settings always download updates I don’t have to bother anymore…

The majority of the time they will EVENTUALLY update on their own after a few days, when your phone is charging, but you’ll also often find many sitting and waiting that can be installed immediately.

This didn’t work for me. What did the trick is changing the DNS in my iPhone’s WiFi settings from Auto (my PiHole) to something else temporarily and restarting the Sonos app. This is the same technique that brought back the missing alarm settings so I suppose it’s the same underlying issue.
