I would like to have 2 sonos ace headphones connected to my system when my wife and I watch a movie,  whilst my daughter is studying in the other room. I would like to know if that is possible before I purchase a second ace. I have a simple set up with my arc ultra to my TV and sub. I believe this was not possible a year ago when I got the system. Has this changed? Thank you for any feedback.

Yes, this can be done. See this explanation for the TV Swap feature: https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/listen-to-your-tv-with-sonos-ace-tv-audio-swap Might indeed be a feature Sonos added later on.

“A maximum of two Sonos Ace headphones can be used together in a TV Audio Swap session.”

Hello again,

I have purchased and managed to get my 2nd ace connected to my phone but when I've opened up the sonos app, I can't seem to get either sonos ace headphones to appear as connected (the writing is greyed). When I try the prompts to connect the headphone, it fails.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

The app is updated. All the sonos components are connected to the same wifi channel.

I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Regards,

Minh

You can only have one connected to your phone via Bluetooth at a time. Make sure the 1st Ace is turned off while adding the 2nd to Sonos. Is the 2nd currently connected to the phone Bluetooth? If not, get it connected to Bluetooth first. Then open the Sonos app and go to Settings → + Add Headphones.

Two can be connected to your Sonos soundbar, as indicated by @106rallye , but only one Bluetooth connection can exist at a time, as indicated by @kdowling .

After you’ve set up the second set of headphones (Set up your Sonos Ace) you can swap TV audio as described in the link provided by 106rallye:

Swap audio from your TV to Sonos Ace

In order to swap home theater audio from your TV to your headphones, make sure your TV is on and that TV audio is already playing from your home theater speaker. A maximum of two Sonos Ace headphones can join a single TV Audio Swap session.

On Sonos Ace, you can swap TV audio by pressing and holding the Content Key on the right ear cup. A second Ace can be added to the same TV Audio Swap session by pressing and holding the Content Key on another configured Ace unit.

In the Sonos app, you can swap audio from Sonos Ace’s info screen. Select the Swap button to play TV audio through your headphones. A second Ace can be added to the same TV Audio Swap session by selecting the Join on the Sonos Ace info screen.
