So I really can’t use a button to mute music/calls 1.5 years into the lifecycle? This makes me sad/mad. You guys are the gold standard.

be better (please).

Out of curiosity, can you describe the use case a little bit more?

When it comes to music, I think I would just pause the audio rather than mute it, which you can do from the button controls.

For calls, are you wanting to mute the audio of others on the call or mute your own microphone?

Let me start off by saying my 9 year old son and you share the best name on God’s green earth. 😂.

Buddy, I’d just like to start out saying I’m on the Apple iOS ecosystem. That said my biggest hopes for update in no particular order are

     A. The ability to mute my own mic on phone calls.

      B. Mute Siri from coming in on podcasts (eg on Spotify when I’m listening and working.

      C. Good call on the music point. To be clear I’ll just hit the play pause button and integrate that idea moving forward. 👍

       D. That’s it. These things are tits and I love them. Best in the business Sonos is. I’m only critical because yall are the standard as far as audio goes. No one comes close.

cheers to you and enjoy your spring.

Bob.

As someone who is known to pop off with some . . . uhhh . . . slightly unprofessional background comments when on a Teams/Zoom call, muting of the microphone is something I use liberally.  Though I currently use the icon in the Teams/Zoom software itself, when tethered by a corded headset, I did use the mute button on the set itself and could see where that would be convenient for calls.

You named your son Melvimbe?

I’m like @jgatie in the sense that I mute myself on teams/zoom calls all the time (using my phone or laptop controls), but I can’t recall ever needing/wanting to mute myself on a normal phone call.  I honestly don’t even know if that’s an option on my android phone, or if it’s part of the bluetooth standard.  That said, I do believe the headset provided at work that I use for teams does have a toggle for mute.  However it’s very easy to accidently end the call with the same button, which has happened by accident once or twice, so I avoid using it.

In general, I avoid ‘blind button pushing’ or functions that require multiple presses.  I don’t want to train myself on how to properly use functions I won’t use often, particularly when I have a better/easier user interface nearby.  But that’s just me.

      B. Mute Siri from coming in on podcasts (eg on Spotify when I’m listening and working.

That sounds like a different issue and maybe something you configure Siri to handle properly.  With Alexa for example, I believe you can train it to recognize your voice, and ignore wake words that don’t come from you.  That said,  the audio produce on the Ace should be contained in the ear muffs and not blead over for the mic on your Ace, or your phone/laptop to pickup.

Ending a Teams call in mid-meeting and being able to blame it on hardware?  Sign me up!

Ending a Teams call in mid-meeting and being able to blame it on hardware?  Sign me up!

I learned a little trick today.  Most of the applications and such I use at work are single sign-on (SSO) as well as the company wifi login.  After 3 unsuccessful logins, my account will get auto locked for 20 minutes.  I can turn on wifi (with incorrect password) on my work phone.  After a few minutes, the phone will automatically fail to to login in to wifi 3 times and kick me out of everything for 20 minutes.

Since I don’t really need wifi on my phone, I can leave it turned off normally, and just turned it on when ‘needed’.
