Issue with the Ace ULTRA

There is a small issue with the ACE ULTRA I just received. It’s up to date to begin with (latest firmware).
When I listen to music using USB C on my Mac, when I take off the headset to put on the table, the music does not stop. When I put it back on my head, the music is paused.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Have you checked the "wearing" sensor to make sure it is clear?

Maybe toggle the pause setting on and off and couple times to see if it clears up.

Yes, I experience the same thing with the Ace (not Ultra). Sometimes it stops when you put them on and plays when you take them off. It’s like every other time you take them off / put them on, the play/pause reverses.

I set up my new Ace Ultra today and it also does this. Using USB-C on my MacBook Pro, taking the headphones off does not pause. Putting them back on, pauses. Take them off, stays paused. Put them back on starts playing. The Content Key presses always pause/play.

It works correctly using Bluetooth with my iPhone or playing to the headphones using the sonos app / linking.

I was really considering ordering a pair of the Ace ultra..but will wait to see if this issue gets corrected.

Since this was an issue with the original Ace headphones from the start, I wouldn’t count on this getting fixed. There probably aren’t lots of people using them with a mac connected by USB-C.

I don’t rely on the wear detection any way. I usually have it turned off in the sonos settings. This problem doesn’t affect anything else about the headphones, and wear detection works in all other cases. It wouldn’t be a determining factor for me buying these. They are really good IMO.

Another update on this… I tested using the Ace Ultra USB-C connection with my iPhone last night. Wear detection worked flawlessly. Paused when I took them off, play resumed when I put them back on. It’s just USB-C to the MacBook Pro that has the problem.
