Beautiful, sturdy headphones. The case is excellent. They're intuitive to use and have excellent sound quality, even for an inexperienced ear like mine. The only thing I'm not so thrilled with right now is that the earcups make me sweat over time and cause some problems when wearing glasses: the earcups press hard, causing the arms to shift into an unnatural position and making it difficult to put my glasses back in place.
I haven't tried other headphones from the same family yet to see if I'd have the same problem with competing headphones.
So I can say I'm very happy with my purchase: they're just a stone's throw away from excellence.
Headphone comfort is very personal. I can literally wear these all day without any discomfort. For me this is unusual. Over the years headphones that other users have found to be very comfortable begin to annoy me after a short while. My only issues with these is that if I lay back for a while, these headphones may slip out of place. I’ll also slightly adjust the position of my glasses over my ears from time to time.
I found the Ace to be a little warm to wear initially too - especially after say 2-3 hours of use without removing them but I persevered and found I got used to them over time. They do seem to fit well around my reading glasses but I don’t wear those all the time that I’m listening to audio and can see my iPad screen okay with a slightly stretched out arm. The two great features of the Ace for me are the TV SoundSwap and the (ANC) noise cancelling - I do have other headphones x2 from Sony and for me the Ace is the better product, but I do really like the Sony ‘Connect’ iOS app and the integration with Amazon Alexa, but the Sony noise cancelling is nowhere near as good as the Ace IMHO.
I find all the headphones that I have, sound good to my ears, but I think the Ace wins for me in this area too,as it provides good bass and ‘highs’ and has a depth/warmth to its sound overall - I have no hesitation in recommending the Ace to others.
My only two wishes are that the headset would do ‘Music SoundSwap’ alongside ‘TV SoundSwap’ - similar (not quite the same) to what we see available on the Sonos Roam 2 …and I’d like to be able to use Ace with Alexa in the same way that I can with my Sony headsets.
