Honest not sure if this is a Sonos issue or Google issue or both.

After adding Sonos with Voice Match for my account, my partner goes into add Voice Match but it says there are no devices available. She can see the speakers in our Home but they are not appearing as eligible for voice match.

She does however see a bunch of old versions of these speakers.

does she need to add Sonos speakers herself as works with Google? Do I need to somehow share the speakers as available for voice match?

Hello @Boo Radley, welcome back!

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble setting up Google Voice Match with your Sonos.

After adding Sonos with Voice Match for my account, my partner goes into add Voice Match but it says there are no devices available. She can see the speakers in our Home but they are not appearing as eligible for voice match.
She does however see a bunch of old versions of these speakers.

What do you mean by “old versions”? The Sonos speakers need to be added in a Google Home and each user (other than the creator of Google Home) needs to be invited to it.

Have a look at our Support Article Control Sonos with the Google Assistant and more specifically the Google Support Article Turn on voice recognition with Voice Match.

Can you try and remove the old versions and attempt to set up Voice Match again? If that fails, maybe try completely removing all the Sonos devices within Google home and re-add them.

Let us know if this helped.

Sorry, the old versions are apparently a known issue with Google Home and Assistant where there are ghost devices in her and my Assistant settings that are no longer connected to the Home. So she sees these old devices but none of the new ones.

The Sonos speakers need to be added in a Google Home and each user (other than the creator of Google Home) needs to be invited to it

I think it may be the “Invited” piece that needs to be clarified. Invited to the Home or specifically to those devices?

She’s definitely parts of the Home. The speakers are all present in the Home, she is a part of the Home and she can see the speakers as devices in the Home, but not when she goes into Voice Match as though they’re not eligible for Voice Match.

I have the same issue. Only have one user in my home. Cannot add voice match, as the speakers won’t show up when choosing add voice match. Same with personal results as well.

I am having exactly the same issue, I tried everything I could think of short of deleting the “Home” and start again. My wife cannot see any of the sonos devices in voice match, while she can see them all in the google home app.

Have you contacted Sonos Support to discuss it? I’m not convinced responding to a two month old thread may get the response you desire.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

You will be surprised how many times the author of the thread found a solution in the meantime and didn’t update the thread with it, when nudged they can give an update and provide a solution that many would be able to find instead of each and every one of them having to contact support.

I’ll contact support tomorrow and update the thread if the issue gets resolved.

As far as I know, we still have this issue. We have never been able to successfully get the voice match feature to distinguish between my wife and my voice on our Sonos ones Using Google Assistant to allow us to use our indisvidual linked Spotify accounts or even just our individual calendars.

I’m confused as to how “Google Voice Match” is a Sonos issue as everything points to Google to set it up. Sonos speakers (those that still accept Google assistant natively like Alexa or SVC) is just a conduit to Google Assistant (at least to my understanding)

As another example…I use Alexa. However Alexa Plus is not available via Sonos. I do have Alexa Plus devices that operate independently of Sonos. If I have an issue with Alexa Plus I’m not going to come to this community for assistance.
