I have just purchased Sono Beam Gen 2 two days ago from a retailer in the United Kingdom.

I have been trying to add Google assistant to my speaker for hours and what I got from the Google Home app is Sonos is linked … and then something went wrong please try again…

I have chosen Sonos because of its compatibility with Google Home. If this is an ongoing/existing issue, the product should not be or never be advertised as compatible with Google Home.

Can someone tell me or confirm if Sonos is violating any consumer law and it provides false information?

Last who can I reach out to for a product refund? Retailer said only accept a return with unused/resalable condition..and the packaging of Sonos obviously wouldn’t allow the product to be unused… Sonos team would you advise please??

No, it would not be considered any ‘violation’, as you should still be able to control your Beam from a Google device, even if the ability for the Beam to be added as a conduit to Google is temporarily under investigation. Two days, I suspect, would be laughed out of court, even if you could find a lawyer to carry forward a case. If there is a problem, and it is under investigation, I don’t think it could be considered ‘false information’ at all.

If, and at two days it seems likely, your purchase is unsatisfactory to you, you can usually return it to the place of purchase, following that place’s rules for the process.
