still dealing with SONOs rediculious and unprofessional update

I was quite happy with Sonos before the update.  The system worked just fine. Now there are too many problems to list here. At this point it's way more trouble than it's worth. I really regret buying the three sets of speakers and feel guilty about giving two sets as gifts.  Now it seldom works correctly and is still missing key features I used all the time. They have had months to correct this. It's hard to imagine how a company can screw things up this badly. 

The Sonos software ‘update’ made the October 4th issue of the Los Angeles Times. LA Times called it a “debacle” and a “multi-million dollar blunder.”

Nothing like bad press to get management attention. We’ll see if they replace the CEO like most companies do after they get this sort of negative attention.  

For me, the Android app now works most of the time and I’ve had no issues with the Windows desktop app. When this update first came out and crashed the system I was still able to do most things from the PC. 

Yeah, I’m still getting strange symptoms (i.e. music starts playing - sometimes loudly when no request has been made to do so,) and verbal commands to “Hey Sonos” don't seem to work even though the speaker responds “Absolutely” or similar. Rooms still missing in my system, sporadically showing up when others don’t, Music Services set to default to Apple Music but the system still defaults to Spotify no matter what I do. Other issues as well… The saga continues. 

I’m on app v16 (build 80.09.08) and all checks for updates indicate no update is needed/available. Speakers all show as v16.3.3 (build 80.1-56190) and again indicate they are current.

Is there (still / was there ever) a 2-week update cycle in play, as the CEO promised?

Funny, posts by completely different posters, days apart, seem to be mirroring each other.  LA times mention . . . corporate shakeup . . .  firing the CEO . . . change at the top . . .
