Hello
Sonos Music Library Alphabet Scrolling Finally fixed, only took you over a year to fix this and you still haven’t fixed issue when playing along playlist. You have to keep scrolling down the queue to see what’s playing, another annoying feature that has gone.
Both of these features have been returned with the latest update in the Sonos App. Please have a look at the following Community thread for additional information:

The update will be rolled out in phases, like most updates, to ensure any small bugs are caught before it reaches everyone's devices.
I will update this post once I know it has been made available on all platforms to 100% of our users.
Make sure to check for updates within the Sonos App and confirm you are on the above mentioned versions.
Thank you for your patience and feedback.
I hope this helps.
Hi,
thanks for the update, however I have the latest version and still when view queue it doesn’t go to the song that is playing. If in middle or end of a playlist you have the joy of scrolling endlessly.
lets see if fixed within the coming days.
On my Android App I just have Albums listed as A-Z but no scroll bar at the side. Is that the update? If that is the case it is no more useful than before!

You should be able to answer that for yourself. What version are you running, and does it match the number given above. Look under Settings/General Settings/About My System.

Hey
As mentioned in the attached thread, the features will be available in phases. Check below:
Please also note that although the new functionality is contained within the latest update, you may not see any changes until we activate a flag that enables the changes - the roll-out may be controlled by this mechanism rather than the update process itself.

The Android version works differently. Start dragging the list of library tracks and two bubbles will popup. Drag the right bubble to scroll to your letter.
That’s helpful, that a flag needs to be enabled. So it is still not fixed then.
good old Sonos, that’s why I got rid of everything bar one Sonos one.
Sonos , still poor. I don’t think I’ll ever forgive you for your failures and poor arrogant responses telling me things are fixed when they are not. Sonos just make me angry nowadays. I never post but Sonos got my backup.
good bye and soooooo long

You should be thankful that they are fixing what they broke. Be patient, the queue playing focus feature will probably come back in a future update in the coming months.

As yet I do not have these two bubbles - is that the flag I am waiting for?
I’ve been patient since the app update last year. Be patient, hhhhhmmmmmn.
We should not have to wait over a year for a fix, this should all have been tested prior to release and because of all the issues they should have pulled th release straight away.
be patient, if you took your car in to garage to be fixed would you wait a year.

That didn’t take long.. you’re back! You were saying good buy hours ago..
?
Still no sign of those bubbles to enable fast scolling?
Great news they finally appeared.
So I’m wondering if it might be safe for me to update my version (the old pre disaster version)?
I only listen to internet radio stations and FLAC files from my NAS.
Yes. Don’t pre-emptively catastrophise…

That would be a nice luxury if it wasn’t for the recent disastrous history of the Sonos app. This is an important decision for me because if I do update there is no going back to the version that I have that is totally fit for purpose…. I’d hate to swap it for a version that isn’t.
I get it, really. But there are millions of people with working systems - there are thousands without. You’ll find all of those without a working system on here and Reddit, which skews the perception.
Just be sure to update your system too after updating the app.
Don’t worry about how cold the water might be - once you’ve jumped in and got your shoulders under, you’ll be fine…! :)

With all due respect I would like to wait for a reply for someone who isn’t part of the “protect Sonos at all costs and never criticise” brigade :)
I do realise about forums being mostly people with issues, I was a software developer for 35 years before retiring and to be honest I use to trust Sonos completely but after that disaster and the way they treated long standing loyal customers last year, that trust has gone.
Edited as I’m not getting into this.
Edited as the offensive post above has been removed.

What are you looking to achieve by updating to the new app? If the version of the app you are using satisfies your needs, I’d question the need to update, especially when your profile shows you own older devices. They may be are compatible with the new app but Sonos have previously admitted to issues with the Play:1 on the new app around volume responsiveness if I recall correctly.

That is a very good question and thanks for the reply :) The only reason to upgrade is because I don’t like the feeling of running old software that hasn’t had any security updates etc for well over a year.
I wonder if the possible issues with Play1 volume responsiveness will be something they can sort out or if it’s something that is permanent?
