This update includes a few QOL features I know some of you have been waiting for so without further ado, here is what the app introduces:
Â
Improved scrolling performance in large content lists
A-Z Scrolling for Local Music Library
In app preparations for a big Ace update!
Â
iOS improvements:
Mute buttons in the grouping menu
Tap on a product image to access the product settings!
Bluetooth sources device names now how in the Now Playing screen
Â
Android improvements:
Recently played swimlanes will now be hidden from the home feed if you are logged out, or a guest joins the system. (Was available for iOS but is now on Android too!)
Â
The update will be rolled out in phases, like most updates, to ensure any small bugs are caught before it reaches everyone's devices. I will update this post once I know it has been made available on all platforms to 100% of our users.
Â
In case you missed it, our Tech Blog discussing our improved speech enhancement for Arc Ultra is now live (part 1 and 2. Part 3 will be released tomorrow.) If you want to learn more about the work that went into improving it on Arc Ultra, head over to the Tech Blog for a deep dive by our engineers!
Â
We would love to hear what you think about these updates. Let's chat in the comments below!Â
When in Denmark? Still no a-z scrolling hereâŠ. approx
No A-Z scrolling here.

The article says the updates will be rolled out in phases. I believe getting an app update doesnât necessarily mean the feature will appear immediately. This was the case for the ability to add songs to a Playlist - the app was updated, but the functionality appeared to users in stages.Â
Just checking - have you also run the System Update too?
Hi â@KosÂ
It is not a question of location:
The update will be rolled out in phases, like most updates, to ensure any small bugs are caught before it reaches everyone's devices. I will update this post once I know it has been made available on all platforms to 100% of our users.
Various users will get the update made available to them largely at random.
I hope this helps.

App and system updated and no change that I can see..

It will come.Â
I did the update now but still no a-z?
Edited.
Hi â@KosÂ
Please also note that although the new functionality is contained within the latest update, you may not see any changes until we activate a flag that enables the changes - the roll-out may be controlled by this mechanism rather than the update process itself.
I hope this helps.

Iâve seen that error a few times too, not with just this release.Â
One thing Iâve also noticed, and it may have been there for a while, is it not shows âMusic Libraryâ when playing content from there.Â

Iâm not sure it ever did - there is no space for it in the compressed Now Playing bar at the bottom of the screen. There is room only for the room name, the artist name, the song name and the album name. On the full-size Now Playing screen, there is a lack of any music service logo, which kind of implies that it is the Music Library that is playing.

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with Recently Played content being missing.
Please try force-closing the Sonos app and re-opening it. If that does not help, please try a reset of the Sonos app instead: User icon » App Preferences » Reset App.
I hope this helps.

Nope, didnât help. Should have mentioned in my post that I tried all of those things prior to posting. Also tried removing services and adding them again but the âRecently playedâ section still didnât show anything recently played. Â
Now, a couple of hours later it works again - I guess thatâs just the way the ânewâ Sonos app is, sometimes things work and sometimes they donât.Â
Hi â@MmTtÂ
Honestly, that sounds like the app had trouble communicating with the cloud - a router reboot may have helped, if it was not already resolved.
I have seen no such issue on my own system, but if you see it again, Iâd recommend the router reboot. In fact, I recommend you reboot your router several times a year whether you encounter any issues or not, Sonos or not.
I hope this helps.

WellâŠ. when is the âflagâ? Has anyone gotten the a to z feature back now? Â
Still waiting here. Intrigued as to how it will look.Â
â@KosÂ
The ability to add a song to a Playlist was rolled out over the space of about a week, as I recall, so your flag might not activate for a while. But it might activate in five minutes. Iâd be fairly sure the moderators on here donât know when your specific account will allow A-Z scrolling.Â
It hasnât been there for the last year. Is there an emergency that requires it today?
Definitely have the A-Z scrolling. And itâs much appreciated as I have an extensive collection of music, over 20,000 tracks.
I have letters of the alphabet segmenting my library, but no scroll. Am I missing something?Â

Not sure what you mean exactly. If I bring up the âArtistsâ screen and touch, say, the âRâ letter, it scrolls immediately to the beginning of the artists listing starting with âR.â The letters remain static but the list scrolls. This is vastly superior to having to use manual scrolling with oneâs fingers or hand. Kudos to Sonos for making the letters big enough so that even my fingers can touch them.Â
FYI, this is running on an iPhone Pro Max with IOS 18.5 with, of course, the latest version of the Sonos app. I canât testify that it would work on anything else.

I don't have a list of letters at the top of the screen (I'm assuming that you do? ). But, in the list itself, I have each letter of the alphabet followed by the albums or artists starting with that letter. So perhaps only part of the updated UI is showing for me.Â

Yes I didâŠÂ it correctly says âbuild 85.0-65270â for the units. However, for the app (iOS) it says âbuild 80.21.6â and not 80.22.33âŠ? So I guess patience is all there is :)
